Quesstion about Hawaiian Baby Woodrose

I recently ordered some HBWR and am looking forward to it, I have read alot about usage, safety concerns and the rest but to my dismay the package came with a notice of "Not for human consumption" Is this legal jargon or they treated in a way that would make them unsafe even after pealing scraping?

The site said they were untreated, although I would still like to peal the coating in order to minamize the nausea. What I have read sounds very positive just worried about realities. Is it alright to post who I purchased them through?

i think posting who you got them from is against forum rules.

...

i have found that it makes no difference at all wether you peal the
coating of or not. To be honest the one time i felt no nausea at all
from them was one of the times that i didnt peal the coating off. There
is no proof anywhere that says peeling it off will reduce nausea, only
anecdotal evidance.

But do whatever will make you comfortable.

happy tripping.

peace.

I recently purchased some Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds and I am
planning on trying them out tonight with two of my good friends.
The package came with a warning, similar to what you described, stating
that they "are not intended for human consumption" and also that "seeds
are considered toxic".

I think seed companies will put these warning in place to deter people
from using them for purposes other than growing plants. A seed
retailer doesn't want to be labelled a drug dealer, so they have to
protect themselves.

I've heard before that the seeds do contain some poison of some kind,
but I haven't really been able to confirm this. Apparently it's
not a huge amount, so it won't kill you (when using a reasonable dose),
but the toxins present are responsible for the nausea that a lot of
people experience. Anyone have any more info on this?

Yeh HBWR contain cyanogenic glycosides which is what
is responsible for the nausea. The amount in the seeds is not enough to
actually poison you though.

also every one you order from will give the warning that it is not for
consumption. Those are legal precautions. As long as the seeds are un
treated with chemicals they are safe to eat.
