SWIM knows that most GHB at raves are hard to know the potency of and would like to know if there is anyway to see how potent it is.

SWIM has heard that GHB varies so greatly that as little to half a teaspoon could be a high dose. but is there any for SWIM to tell so he can know how much to safely take considering GHB is so dose dependent. swim is interested in taking around 1.5G worth for his first time.

According to SWIM, as a rule of thumb, the worse/saltier it tastes, the stronger the dose.
Hardly empirical, but there you go.

Other than that, if you don't know who made it, then only a lab can tell you how much active chemical there is in a given amount.

A finely tuned lab rat would also be of use too, though subjectivity and tolerance differences would inevitably creep into the equation.

Taking GHB safely is a simple exercise, even when unsure of product potency.
All you have to do is take half, or even a quarter, of the dose you suspect to be apt.
Give it half-an-hour to an hour and repeat.

Remember kids, you can always add, but you can't take away.

It goes without saying, of course, that any G administration should only be done in the abscence of any other central nervous system depressants (eg alcohol).

PS - I suppose, if you really had to, you could take say, 9ml of liquid G, let it evaporate, weigh what was left and take it from there (not very practical at a rave though).

It would make better sense to try a few mils every 15-20 mins. That way SWIY can judge for himself how it is affecting him.

Please read through the GHB forum in order to best understand how G is dosed. It is not usually taken as a one hit high as to judge a single dose would be very difficult.

The safest way, especially when dosing for the first time, is to take a number of small doses over a period of time that allows SWIY to best judge its effects.

TBH there is the chance that your lab monkey might end his evening grumping about how the G he took didn't affect him. That is not necessarily a bad thing. What would be worse is if your lab monkey got it completely wrong and ruined his night by taking a single large dose and passing out. Something that should be avoided unless SWIY is at home in a safe environment.

PS *Please* make sure SWIY reads about the difference between GHB and GBL in taste and dosing. GBL is dosed in the 1-1.5ml range whereas GHB is usually dosed in the 5-7.5ml range.

GHB in a small glass of water should not taste of anything, bar maybe a little salinity.

GBL in a large glass of water still tastes like rocket fuel.
