The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
I thought I would pose the question and tap into the collective brain-trust on suggestions for feeling proper the the day after SWIY used GHB the previous night.
Here s the scenario: SWIM likes to enjoy his evenings relaxing, listing to tunes and such on GHB. What he is finding is he is not exactly proper the next day. The question is, what have you heard of to be good solutions for the next day? -Certain kinds of food? -Electrolytes? -Vitamins? -Arlo -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Aint it just like the night to play tricks when your trying to be so quiet" Last edited by Arlo; 27-01-2008 at 03:06. |

How often is one dosing?....from what I've read if there is a hangover next day when reasonable doses are involved one may be dosing too often. Some ppl report increased energy or refreshness the next day.

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
SWIM has been partaking 5 out of seven nights, starting around 6:00 pm with a capful (standard water bottle) and tapering of with half of that every hour until 11:00/12:00.

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
5 out of 7 nites is too often IMHO and my intuition says it could have have negative health effects by throwing off brain chemistry (someone got a ref for this?..is prolly in the file archive somewhere).
While it is up to everyone to make their own choice regarding how often they use...swim has found ability to recognize when use could be a problem and having the ability to abstain is a more important part of drug use than the use itself. While during the more fun periods swim may partake in substances 5 of more days per week....this is often not the same drug (unless its weed or something). Chemistry has much much more to offer us than ghb... |

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
Try telling that to the Narcoleptic patients who take it every night of the year with no issues of concern. Whilst their motivation is to take enough to send them to a deep enough sleep to reduce daytime cataplexy attacks, this nightly dosing (two doses four hours apart usually) has been thoroughly researched and has proved time and time again the efficacy of Xyrem (pharma GHB).
TBH there should be no "day after" issues other than, perhaps, a sensible intake of potassium (e.g. a banana) to offset the sodium content of the NaGHB. |

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
SWIM Begs to differ, SWIM seems to feel terrible the next day after using GHB the night before. SWIM usually wakes up 4-6hrs after his last dose feeling extremely strung out and on the edge, its hard to explain but he actually feels like everything in my head is speeding up and is having an aura for a seizure or somthing. SWIM usually has to take ativan/xanax for the anxiety also cause SWIM can get really sketchy, usually gets very hot and had cold sweats, higher than normal heart rate =( and a few times he has had to take some Gabapentin if i pulled a 24hr binge cause it gets so bad. currently tho SWIM has this new GHB (JUST got it and has had it for less than 24hrs) and he didnt feel the side effects in the morning which is very strange, so maybe it was the kind of G he had? he hasnt always had these side effects just with the last 3 bottles he has had since the beginning of the year.

I find it hard to believe that he gets, what sounds very much like, withdrawal symptoms upon waking if he has only dosed two or three times the previous evening. It sounds more like he has dosed repeatedly over an extended period and, when he awakes, he gets the anxiety and physiological problems often mentioned by those who are getting a little too slap happy with their GHB use. |

SWIM will do no more than 8 grams a night (starts at mayb 8 ends at 11, then needs a go back to sleep dose around 4). should he think of reducing? whats usually the max? |

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
SWIY would be better off avoiding any "back to sleep" dose at all. Unless he has been prescribed Xyrem he should read up on a more manageable recreational dosing regime.
Can you ask him to list his typical dosing pattern over a 48 hour period please so that we can figure out where he might be "going large". |

Re: The Day After: Best practices for feeling proper
SWIM most of the time goes like this
8pm - YAY ITS 8 O CLOCK, dose 2-2.5g dose (6ml here) 9:30 - effects wore off, next dose. 2g 10:30-11:00 - sleep dose and or another 2g shot. (occasional but not uncommon) 12am Sleep dose. 2g 4am - get back to slelep dose. 2g (rare) 7am - another need sleep dose. 2g [only happens if the 4am one doesnt work and i absolutly NEED to get 2 more hours in which is not often at all] and then again the next day if SWIM decides to do it nightly. he's been taking 2-4 day breaks in between days tho lately hoping it will help fix the problem. also the 4am dose, SWIM cant cut it out unless he wont sleep. SWIM has tried laying there tossing and turning but he finds theres no way in hell he can get back to sleep unless it caves in and takes another shot. SWIM is very jelous of all his friends that can do the same yet fall asleep and stay asleep. |
