auditory hallucinations

SWIM had taken a pharmaceutical coctail as a small experiment, percocet 7.5 and some wine. After about 45 min. another tab of 7.5.

As SWIM was kicking back...sipping more wine enjoying the cool sensation of swallowing...sipping ..enjoying the flow.

Out of now where...SWIM hears a voice..a small female voice seemingly coming from the edge of the sofa I was reclining on!

Somewhat taken aback by the experieance but the voice was non-threatening...even sort of soothing but none the less....un-nerving for as soon as I lifted my head from the sofa...the voice stopped.

Has anyone SWIY heard of this type of sensation?

Re: auditory hallucinations

That sounds like the opiate nod, a kind of state of awake dreaming. Many people have experienced it, and in fact the nod state is one that many people try to attain while on opiates.

Re: auditory hallucinations

SWIM always seems to experience auditory hallucinations when under the influence of any psychadelic except for anything MDMA based, when a door is closed, he would think that he hears people calling to him from round corners or behind doors, mind you, this only seems to happen when he is tripping out alone.he has heard is friend had experienced it aswell when he took mushrooms with me and another friend, and he was called back home by his girlfriend, who surprisingly was annoyed at him for being in such a state, so left him alone for the night,,, apparantly he heard things that werent there...SWIM's conclusion is that it is probably an innate desire for interaction with another relativly intelligent being that causes these hallucinations, and so driving one to go look for an interaction...hypothesized though, SWIM has taken into account as to why, but he thinks it may well be classical conditioning in that we usually feel reward when we interact with others at most times... so the desire is turned into a perceived noise, and the hallucination begins...sometimes it can be quite frightening
