Hydrocodone Question.

This past month I've been having a nice amount of work done on my teeth. My dentist prescribes me Vicodin for the pain. I purchase the generic kind because it's cheaper so the pills involved are M357 and M358.

I've been taking between five to six pills a day for alittle over two weeks now. Besides a few occasions, I haven't been abusing them. Downers never have been my type of drug, all the high does is make me sleep. So I take them throughout the day.

The past week my teeth haven't been hurting but I'm still taking them regulary throughout the day. Usually two or three at a time, which doesn't get me high.

The reason I'm still taking them is lately I find myself getting irritated really easy and getting angry about stuff that doesn't really matter. I'm not talking "rage" angry, I mean I get aggravated with people over the the smallest things. So of course, a hydrocodone is going to relax you.

I'm just curious to know if these actions are from a slight hydrocodone withdrawl or if it's just because my life isn't in such a great shape right now.

Also, I need to add the fact that I have been sniffing the pills the entire time, even when it was for pain. I do this because as we all know, the effects come on sooner.

Anyways..

To those of you who reply, thanks..

Re: Hydrocodone Question.

Sounds like a slight withdrawal rather it is physical or mental. If you have no more pain and do not like the high why still do it. It won’t take long before the anger stops. There are much better things to relax than a pill for pain. Do not let anger lead to an addiction. If one continues the withdrawal will only get worse.

Hope things go well for you good luck

Re: Hydrocodone Question.

When I said I don't like the high I basically mean't taking a high dose to get a good buzz. If I take six pain pills all it does is make me sleepy - that's what I don't enjoy. However doing two or three gives me a nice relaxing feeling which I guess you could also consider "getting high" but personally I don't.

Also, I don't feel any urges to take the pill. I just now it will calm me down. So I guess "self-medication" could be a weak excuse.. haha

Thank you for the information though.

Don't worry if a person continues to use one will find many more excuses. not just because people get you angry. and if one gets angry at the little things it does just sound like a week excuse, because that is an urge to do it even if to calm down

and if you can use the edit button, use it, Even though you have a script for them you should still not say I did this or I did that. use swim, bongo our what ever one choices try not self incriminate

Hi There!

SWIM has a similar reaction to that which you describe. SWIM has a scrip for oxycodone (10 mgs, 3 x per day). SWIM gets 90 pills per month, and will skip taking them for a few days so that she has extra pills and can have some fun.
This past month, SWIM ran out of pills about 5 days before her doc would refill the script. Although the physical withdrawal symptoms were nominal, the psychological effects were notable. Most specifically, SWIM got agitated over really small things; SWIM was very moody, irritable and easily angered. It was almost as if SWIM was having a serious case of PMS.
When SWIM was able to obtain some street hydrocodone, the irritability subsided considerably.
In SWIMs humble opinion, your emotional state is likely attributed to hydrocodone withdrawal. On the other hand, SWIM is willing to bet that negative events in your life are probably contributing to your heightened level of agitation.
Hope this helps, and SWIM hopes you feel better!
