a bit confused with Diphenhydramine

so today i took 16 Diphenhydramine pills i.e about 400mg ("sleep aid" from a brand called kroger) at about 3:30 it is now 6:08 and i am not feeling any of the effects described, i just started feeling a little dizzy at around 5:30 . another reason im confused is that i weigh 150 and am 6'4''
what went wrong?

edit: this is my first time doing these, and i would like to know if anyone else has experienced this, or heard of that high of a dose not working, and these pills i took weren't expired or anything if that even matters

Swim thought that was benadryl, but anyway did you eat anything or take them on a empty stomache? Also did you drink plenty of liquids?

yeah my stomach was full before i took them, and i drank at least 2 cups of water with them

I've tried this stuff which is sold as an antihystamine in the UK. It just gave me terrible restless legs syndrome and a feeling of detachment on one occasion and depression the other times. I was taking it to help me sleep but it just kept me wide awake. It does nothing positive for me.

Usually with dxm and dissociatives it has been swims experience that if swiy is taking them to get high swiy should also take them on a empty stomache for full effects. Drink plenty of liquids to help them dissolve.

Well, the main problem here is that diphenhydramine and dextromethorphan (DXM) are different drugs. Since you're posting on the Dissociatives forum, SWIM is going to assume that you meant to buy DXM, but bought diphenhydramine accidentally. Diphenhydramine at 400mg might make someone feel a bit dreamy and sleepy, just as you described.

DXM is sold as as a cough medication. Look for brand names like Robitussin and Zicam in the United States; Robitussin Cough Gels are a good way to go. Be sure that you check the "active ingredients" list before buying; the only active ingredient should be dextromethorphan. Keep looking until you find it - other ingredients can hurt the trip, or even kill you.

no i know its Diphenhydramine and im not getting mixed up, my problem was i took them on a full stomach, purple haze pointed that out to me

Oh. Well, diphenhydramine is a deleriant anti-histamine, not a dissociative. There's a forum for those too, so you might want to post future questions there.
