Cannabis in the Czech Republic/Prague

Just thought SWIM would let you know about Cannabis in the CR. SWIM couldn't find any other threads on it so he thought he'd say.

In the Czech Republic, Weed possesion is legal under a certain about (b asically a 1/16th but it is measured in grams over there.

Anyway, you cannot just buy it in shops but there are weed 'friendly' bars.

Over Christmas SWIM and some friends went there and getting hold of it was easy enough if you are friendly and make friends with the locals, smoking in these sort of bars was everywhere and you could smell it as soon as you walked downstairs. SWIM hears there are many more bars like this though we just stayed in this one.

So yes, again to MODS if talking about how easy it was for SWIM to acquire then just delete that bit.

Re: Cannabis in the Czech Republic/Prague

Well, it's NOT completely legal in Czech Republic.

The law states that it's okay to have "smaller than small quantity" which is not defined in more details. Nevertheless, most of the police officers use the regulation issued by state police, which says something like "having not more than 1g of grass is not a crime but it is an offence".

Remember it's not a law, it's just a recommendation that a police officer might or might not use. So it's up to the police officer if he arrests you, write you a fine or just salutes

In conclusion...
I don't recommend walking with joint down the street.
