Advice? salvia divinorum 25x extract for first-timer~

SWIM was stupid and didn't research enough before she bought a gram of 25x to try for her first time. Now that she's actually got it in her hands, she's read a lot more stuff on how anything above 5x for a first-timer can be way too much. She knows the smart thing would be to wait for an order of lower extract to come in, but she's already been anxiously waiting for a month for the 25x. She's also wondering how long it'll stay "good", if the bag's been opened before?

So.. what are your thoughts on SWIM using very very little of 25x?

Also, and this is going to sound very newbish, can SWIM just put whatever she's using into a vaporizer [ the lightbulb one from the Cannabis forum ] and smoke it like that?

Welcome to the forums exItus. Please use the search engine....at least some of swiy's questions could be answered (and for those I'll make shorter answers).

SWIM's advice......seriously....wait for the weaker one. SWIY could have an immensely terrifying trip, or a mystical trip....or black out....or feel euphoric/dysphoric. There is simply no way to tell. If SWIY tries 5X, and feels only the weak effects, then SWIY can guage what 25X would be like (Usually much more than 5 times stronger than 5X). But still, it's worth being ready. Salvia, even to the experienced tripper....is still incredibly hectic. Especially to a newbie at it, losing complete control over a situtation (including the ability to think....not think badly...but like completely lose the ability to think)....is just something we as humans aren't prepared for. Trust SWIM, it's really really worth the rate.

Alternatively, swiy could take a very small dose. But to get about the dose of 5X from 25X, it would barely be a dose (SWIY would need like a chillum pipe or something to actually get the smoke).

Other answers:

It'll stay fresh for a very very long time, as long as swiy keeps it in its packaging in a normal temperature and away from the light (not as important for short term storage...but light will eventually make a difference)

Light bulb vaporizor will not work.

Personal experience: leaf matter burned, and eventually ignited the leaf.
The reason: Salvinorin A has a very high melting point, so even if swiy vaporized it, it would probably condense before making it to swiy's lungs (when smoking it, the smoke helps carry it in).

Thanks for the reply. SWIM was unsure about asking for advice at first, because she didn't want to feel paranoid or scared if she does try the 25x, but perhaps it's better if she knows what she could be in for...

Haha, SWIM's rather disappointed to hear that the light bulb won't work. She has to make her own stuff and is trying to figure out how to not let the little extract pieces fall through the pipe.

Foil and a sewing needle as a screen always worked for SWIM (Shiny side down). SWIM also didn't have the luxury of getting stuff pre-made for a while.

Swim suggests that 25x will be ok for a first time user as long as that user uses a very small amount. Did swim buy it in one of those little vials? If so, Swim reccomends using 1/4 of a capfull, as on his first time Swim was blown away by a full capful of 5x. So 1/4 of a capfull should be a good strong but not unbearable hit for a first time user.

if you've been high before, it shouldnt matter. just make sure your with someone. it makes swim enjoy it more. and its hard to have very little saliva, because it only takes 1 hit to get fucked up

The OP clearly stated he has never used sally before. If your insinuating the a marijuana experience can prepare one for sally I must heartily disagree. I can't think that ANYTAHINg could prepare someone for a sally experience. Swim started with 40x. Swim doesn't reccomend that at all. Swim has a very high natural tolerance to chemicals in general. Also swim's mental balance is particularly ripe for positive sally experiences (and now that he is familiar with it he knows when he is ripe to repeat).

If swiy has stronger shit swiy could just measure out very small doses. Swim uses a pipe tabacco prong spoon to measure out dosages. He can eyeball hits ratioed to purpose and the hitter of 50x.

I could give you instructions for a hardware store bong but unless you already have a 1/2" drill bit (which is like a $12 piece from the average hardware store) it's cheaper just to by a bong from a headshop.

BONGS ARE ESSENTIAL. So are TORCH lighters. The regular kind. Not the kind that 'change colors' or have a 'green flame'. If you see the stone-on-a-wire in the flame area then it's the wrong kind of torch lighter.

Bongs are a great way to go but it can be accomplished with a pipe and normal lighter as well. Trip sitters are very useful since they can hold the pipe and torch the plant matter for SWIY. As far as the 25x goes the only thing that changes is that SWIY would need 5x less than SWIY would with a 5x extract. It won't really change the experience too much, same destination in the end will be achieved.
