Can traces of cocaine be found in swim's car,is he addicted ?(some general questions)
Hey everyone! I'm sorry -- I know that the name of threads are supposed to be specific, but I have a couple of specific questions. I have tried to find answers in the past, but I have found none to my satisfaction. Some of you may notice that I am posting a lot, or w/e. Please be patient with me. I have browsed around this forum long before I became a member (although I just recently learned who SWIM was...lol--I always had a picture in my head of some big dude). Anyway, on with the questions:
1) SWIM has done cocaine in his car numerous times in his car for about the past 5-6 months, and in the process of doing so some of the cocaine was lost around the main console. A little here, a little there. My question is whether or not you all think that the amount that might've accumulated should be a concern in the event of a drug search by a dog in SWIMs car. I know this question is hard, but a general answer would be fine. If it makes it easier, think of hypothetical situations in which it would be a concern to you. If you have experience with such a thing, please speak up. 2) SWIM wonders if he is addicted to cocaine. When SWIM was in high school, SWIM had weekend adventures to his dealers place on Friday and Saturday nights every weekend for an entire spring (I suppose you can say about 4 months or so). With every trip, SWIM needed a little more cocaine to obtain the same feeling (a fairly gradual process). When SWIM noticed the extent to which he was no longer receiving the same feeling, he stopped. What do I mean by he stopped? Well he was able to control his use to about 3-6 times a month for several months (probably another 4-5), but required larger amounts to reach a good feeling. Then, SWIM moved to college in a city around 1.5 hours away. At the beginning of the college semester, SWIM found himself partially going back just to get ahold of some cocaine. However, SWIM did not think about it too much when he was at college -- just on the weekends when he had the chance to go home. Now, SWIM does not go home as much any more, and does not feel so much compulsion to do so. He doesn't really think about it at all except when he is home. When he is home, he has fairly strong compulsion to visit and get some cocaine -- to the extent that it is all he really wants to think about. What do you think? I think that SWIM is not really addicted, but when he is in the same environment, his mind connects to things he normally does (or, well, did). Give me some input. I thought that SWIM would stop when he went to college, but I was wrong. Last edited by Benga; 21-01-2008 at 09:30. Reason: descriptive thread title |

Re: Can traces of cocaine be found in swim's car,is he addicted ?(some general questi
1) visual inspection would yield nothing probably...a dog could sniff it out, but the LEO's would "see" nothing particular is swim's guess. Well unless there are obvious crumbles!
A simple wash (you know water and detergent) would get rid of that problem 2) addiction is a very misunderstood topic...For sure SWIY has a potential substance abuse problem, but weather this can be called a proper addiction is debatable. Typically an addiction is a behavioral pattern of compulsive engagement in an activity DESPITE any negative consequences that activity has on SWIM's life. In that sense, very few people are addicted to caffeine because while they do experience withdrawal or cravings the caffeine consumption has no negative effects on their lives. So one could use cocaine everyday and if that does not interfere with his normal healthy activities, goals etc and it does not cause physical harm then he is not addicted. Problem is cocaine tends to enforce anything but self control and long term use WILL result in tolerance and various problems ranging from nose problems, to heart problems, diminishing of motivation for anything else and psychosis. but then again thats the name of the game, thats what cocaine does...its no joke, its fun but should always ALWAYS be respected |

You can call it whatever you want, but the crazy obsession to use cocaine that surfaces from time to time when you have done "enough" is horrible because it precludes you from thinking about anything else, and enjoying anything else. So long as you keep using it probably won't go away, and it won't get better. NIK gave up coke 2 years ago, and still thinks about it at least once almost every day.
On the first topic, there is an old saying "don't shit where you eat" that might apply here. If NIK had something in his car that he didn't want LE to search and find, he would make sure that LE had no reason to search his car. This means drive sober, obey traffic laws, and make sure the car is CLEAN. Oh, and get a haircut and don't be black. FC |
