Will the second time salvia Divinorum be as good?

Hi

Swim smoked .1g of 10X salvia in two hits for the first time. Swim definitely wasn't prepared for the effects. Swim most probably had a level 5 experience and it was very enlightening just a bit scary trying to get back. That was 6 months ago and now swim feels ready to go again. How likely is it that the second trip will be the same? Swim is a bit cautious now having read about bad experiences but is a positive first experience a good indication that this is likely to continue. Swim is an old person and very sensible

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Re: Will the second time be as good?

It'll probably be very very similar to the first one. People don't generally get tolerance or used to salvia trips till way way way down the line.

SWIM recommends trying a smaller dose since SWIY is quite sensitive to Salvinorin A (lucky). That way swiy gets more used to the trip and won't have to fight back as much.

SWIM had lots of dissociated trips where he was very confused and felt very dysphoric....the body & mind naturally tried to escape the salvia world. If SWIY builds up to it, the experience can be even more enlightening and possibly more pleasant.

Glad SWIY broke through, there are a lot of people who aren't as lucky.

Good luck, and welcome to the forums!

Sal-A

Re: Will the second time be as good?

Tolerance doesn't seem to build up with salvia. Different attempts at reaching the trance like state it can produce will produce different outcomes most of the time. SWIM feels like if you have a good sense of direction, keep the respect for the plant in mind, and don't have worries about the outcome, SWIY will probably have a positive break-through, which can be great for helping someone have a more positive outlook on life. If SWIY had a positive first experience, chances are they meet the above suggestions for a good trip, and as long as they don't dwell on "bad trips" they will most likely have a good one. "Bad trips" on salvia are very different for SWIM than other drugs in the same family, and are far more confusing then scary.

Re: Will the second time be as good?

Swim thanks the above posters for their kind and thoughtful words. Swim did have a pleasant but mind-shattering first experience.

Swim has no interest in other psychedelic substances but came to Salvia in order to increase understanding of the self and the world. However, Salvia may have confused the issues further, creating more questions than answers. But an interesting and useful by-product of salvia use was the calm and relaxed feelings that persisted after use for at least one month. Swim believes it has great potential as an effective anti-depressant and mood enhancer. For Swim it certainly promoted a feeling of reflective and non-judgemental awareness and a greater peace with the world.

Lol, it tends to do that. What I like to do before I embark on a Salvia journey, is to have one and only one question ready to ask. That way nothing gets too confusing, and you don't have to remember a lot (I sometimes have trouble even remembering just one question).

Re: Will the second time be as good?

OP > From the sounds of it swiy has a perfect mental attitude to benefit from salvia. Any way you dice her though sally will ALWAYS be a mind blowing experience. Swiy will not likely have an unpleasant experience with sally as long as she takes time to perpare and be sure of her surroundings before beginning the journey.

@Schwag > That's an interesting suggestion. I'd almost compare it to the way I do tarot cards. When I'm reading other people I make them ask a specific question (Silently). Although when I preform divination on myself I don't ask any questions at all. Swim just steps into salvia or divination and goes where the wind wills him. Sally seems too mind shattering. In that any attempt to carry a conscious thought over to the realm would be in effect fighting the crossover and might produce the fear/violence that causes bad trips. An interesting proposal I may attempt some time when swim does sally again though. It would seem that the question would need to be a deep, focus and pertinent one. As well as one meditated on for probably a week or so. In this one might have a better chance of carrying it over, even if not consciously.

My friend says:
As you mentioned before, Salvia isn't always mind blowing. I always have a question prepared and if I'm conscious enough to ask, great. I agree though, sometimes you're so far gone you can't remember English. In these situations it is obviously difficult to try and conjure up your question. I always ask questions when I have reached level A, L or V on an S-A-L-V-I-A scale. As for producing fear, I wait to settle in to Salvia land first and enjoy some of the strange hallucinations. I find asking the question has no fear accompanying it, and I've never had a bad trip asking a question.

That's very interesting. Swim will be having all his materials this coming weekend and has a good question he has already been meditating on for a week. It seems this may be a proper opportunity to find an answer. Thanks for the advice.
