have you tried reading Strassmans- "DMT: The Spirit Molecule"?
Excellent read and that was the primary route of administration.
In Dr Rick Strassman's book "DMT The Spirit Molecule", he describes how he first tried IM DMT. He found that this wasn't a satisfactory method for the effects that he was looking for, so switched to IV.
Phillip, one of Dr. Strassman's test subjects, was given 75mg (1mg/kg) DMT IM in the arm. He reported this as less intense than smoking DMT and said that he never left his body and could take more.
After this, Dr. Strassman switched to IV DMT and didn't try IM again.
Here's the relevant bit from the book:

On the day Philip received the first dose of DMT by the intramuscular
route, I already was thinking ahead. Perhaps the IM method might be
too slow and mild compared to smoking the drug. What I had read about
IM DMT suggested it took up to a minute to start working, substantially
longer than when it was smoked. However, since all but one of the previously
published human research papers on DMT reported giving it
intramuscularly, I was obliged to begin this way. This older literature suggested
that the dose I was to give Philip, 1 milligram per kilogram (mg/
kg), about 75 mg, probably would be a moderately high dose.

The injection went without a hitch.
After a little more than a minute, Philip opened his eyes and began
breathing deeply. He looked as if he were in an altered state of consciousness.
His pupils were large, he began groaning, and the lines of his face
smoothed. He closed his eyes while Robin held his hand. He laid extremely
still and remained silent, eyes closed. What was happening? Was
he all right? His blood pressure and heart rate seemed fine, but what
about his mind? Did we overdose him? Was he having any effect at all?
About 25 minutes after the injection, Philip opened his eyes and looked
up at Robin. Smiling, he said,
I could have done more.
We all breathed a sigh of relief.
Fifteen minutes later, or 40 minutes after the injection, Philip started
speaking slowly and haltingly.
I never lost touch with my body. Compared to smoking DMT, the visuals
were less intense, the colors were not as deep, and the geometric patterns
did not move as fast.
He sought my hand for comfort. My hands were damp from nervousness,
and he laughed good-naturedly at my anxiety, which was clearly
greater than his!
Upon arising to go the bathroom, Philip was shaky. He drank some
grape juice, ate a little container of yogurt, and filled out the rating scale.
He felt "spaced-out," fuzzy in his mind, awkward, while we walked to and
from another building where I had some business. It was important to be
with him, to observe how he functioned for the next couple of hours. Philip
seemed well enough three hours after his DMT shot for Robin to drive
him home. We said good-bye in the hospital parking lot, and I told him to
expect a call that night.
When we spoke, Philip told me that Robin and he went to eat lunch
after leaving the hospital. He immediately became more alert and focused.
On the ride home, he felt euphoric, and colors seemed brighter everywhere
he looked. He sounded quite happy.
Philip sent me a written report a few days later. Most important was
his last comment:
I expected to jump to a higher level, to leave the body and ego consciousness,
the jump into cosmic space. But this did not happen.
This threshold to which Philip referred is what we now call the "psychedelic
threshold" for DMT. You cross it when there is a separation of
consciousness from the body and psychedelic effects completely replace
the mind's normal contents. There is a sense of wonder or awe, and a
feeling of undeniable certainty in the reality of the experience. This clearly
had not occurred with 1 mg/kg intramuscular DMT.

In order to reexamine the psychological effects of DMT and to correlate them
with pharmacokinetic aspects, we administered .7mg/kg of DMT intramuscularly
to 15 male volunteers. Each subject was an experienced user of LSD,
mescaline, or other psychedelic substances who expressed an intention to
continue using these agents in the future. All subjects were interviewed by
two psychiatrists and were given a complete medical history and examination
prior to testing in order to ensure the absence of psychiatric and physical
impairment.
Like previous investigators, we found that DMT was a hallucinogen with rapid
action and a short duration of effect. Psychological changes were evident
within 5 minutes of injection, peaked at about 10 to 15 minutes, and ended
within 45 to 120 minutes. The major psychological effects are shown in table
1. The subjects became so uncommunicative and withdrawn during the drug
experience that we were forced to inquire about the subjective effects with
simple "yes-no" questions. Although all subjects reported visual distortions
and illusions, these were color or spatial distortions rather than formed
visual hallucinations. Only 1 subject reported an auditory hallucination, a
"buzzing bee" in his ear. We did not observe formal loosening of
associations, although several subjects seemed to have thought blocking. Two
subjects had paranoid symptoms that lasted less than an hour.
These psychological changes were accompanied by mydriasis, tachycardia, and
increased blood pressure. Blood levels of DMT (see figure 2), assayed by a
gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) isotopic dilution technique,
closely paralleled the psychological and autonomic changes (11). Peak
concentrations of DMT, which averaged approximately 100 ng/ml, were reached
about 10 to 15 minutes after injection; the concentration then fell rapidly
to baseline, undetectable levels within about 45 to 120 minutes after
administration.

The second report is from Varieties of Psychedelic Experience, 1966

bloodstream. At the same time the steam came on with a rhythmic clamor and I
remember thinking that it would be nice to have some heat. Within thirty
seconds I noticed a change, or rather I noticed that there had never been any
change, that I had been in this dreamy unworldly state for millions of years.
I told this to Dr. _. who said, "Good, then it is beginning to cross the
blood-brain barrier."
It was too fast. Much too fast. I looked up at what a minute ago had been
doors and cabinets, and all I could see were parallel lines falling away into
absurdities. Dimensions were outraged. The geometry of things crashed blindly
into one another and crumbled into chaos. I thought to myself, "But he said
that I would see God, that I would know the meaning of the universe." I closed
my eyes. Perhaps God was there, behind my eyeballs.
Something was there, all right; Something, coming at me from a distant and
empty horizon. At first it was a pinpoint, then it was a smudge, and then - a
formless growing Shape. A sound accompanied its progress towards me - a
rising, rhythmic, metallic whine; a staccato meeyow that was issuing from a
diamond larynx. And then, there it loomed before me, a devastating horror, a
cosmic diamond cat. It filled the sky, it filled all space. There was nowhere
to go. It was all that was. There was no other place for me in this - *Its*
universe. I felt leveled under the cruel glare of its crystalline brilliance.
My mind, my body, my vestige of self-esteem perished in the hard glint of its
diamond cells.
It moved in rhythmic spasms like some demonic toy; and always there was its
voice - a steely, shrill monotony that put an end to hope.... The chilling
thing was that I knew what it was saying! It told me that I was a wretched,
pulpy, flaccid thing; a squishy-squashy worm. I was a thing of soft entrails
and slimy fluids and was abhorrent to the calcified God.
I opened my eyes and jumped up from my chair screaming: "I will not have you!
I will not have such a God! What is the antidote to this? Give me the
antidote!" But as I said this I doubted my own question for it seemed to me
that this was the only reality I had ever known, the one I was born with and
the one I would die with. There was no future beyond this state of mind, there
was no state of mind beyond this one.
"There is no antidote," said Dr. _. "Relax, it's only been three minutes.
You've got at least twenty-five more minutes still to go."
Thanks for the info. Now then, is there any info on MAOI's and intramuscular dmt? Wouldn't it be excellent to have an ayahuasca experience without having to drink the brews...Swim doesn't expect it, the world aint perfect...but swims still gotta ask..
he said pharmahuasca which is just swallowing the pure forms of harmaline and dmt, which would be required for IM as well. and if you had the pure form you can just swallow it in a gel cap and not taste any shit.
