Effects - Mushroom Effects Disappointing After Experiencing LSD?

When swim first took 1/8 of mushrooms, he thought it was crazy and so fun. SWIM went through a period where they dropped acid, at doses up to six hits at once, on a weekly to twice a week basis. Now when SWIM eats shrooms even a quarter it just doesn't measure up to acid and he feels dissapointed. Should swim discontinue his mushrooms usage?

In a six week period, swim dropped acid 13 times. It has now been about a month since swim has fried because acid is unavailable in his area. since then swim has done shrooms twice because they have been available. So swim has not been dosing very much at all recently so he is pretty much taking a break.

most people say to wait a month in between trips to give your tolerance time to recover,a week is the absolute minimum for best effects.

Ya a good break is whats needed, tripping twice a week is gonna cause tolerence, LSD and shrooms have cross over tolerence remember. Maybe a new strain of mushroom would help too. Also remember if swiy doesnt eat in the hours before mushrooms he will trip a lot harder.

Swim has taken both drugs roughly the same amount of times and has had "crazier" experiences from mushrooms. Maybe swiy should consider mescaline if he wants something new.

That is because it is incredibly mild compared to acid. Psilocybin is thousands of times less potent than LSD, and will cause a weaker trip.

Swim would take much longer breaks in between trips.

Yes, but the dose of psilocybin taken to trip is many times greater than the dose of LSD taken.

The original post said the user dropped 6 hits of acid. I don't know how many mushrooms someone would have to eat to produce a similar trip. This hypothetical person eating a quarter of mushrooms should not expect to trip as hard as with acid, this is what swim was referring to.

SWIM trips harder from 3.5g of mushrooms than he does from 6 hits of acid.

However "hard" the trip is, is not a concrete measurement. It varies from person to person and even trip to trip. SWIM estimates if he took 7g of good boomers he would need to take at least 15 hits of acid to match the experience in terms of severity and depth of the trip.

SWIM notices significant tolerance in the 2-3 days following a profound mushroom trip, and lesser forms of tolerance if experienced again within about 2 weeks give or take a few days. SWIY says they've had mushrooms twice in the last month, so they may be experiencing some of this slight tolerance, but with mushrooms, even slight tolerance could make the trip seem much less intense.

Just try waiting a little longer, maybe a month, and the next time SWIY eats mushrooms, ingest a significant amount (at least 3.5g) if SWIY is looking to have a "crazy" trip.

SWIM would do mescaline but cannot find it. The things is a long break was taken between the last lsd trip and the mushroom trips.

Also, mushrooms aren't supposed to be 'crazy'. If you want to be entertained, take a happy pill like E and go play in traffic. But if you really want to be crazy, get yourself 5 dried grammes, down them in one and sit in silent darkness and wait for the 'craziness' to errupt.

I think if you're tripping a couple of times a week, you're missing the point.

well with most compounds or psychedelics once you do them for a while the surprise hit you in the face factor is over with and you just get the drug, SWIM surely doesn't think that acid does it for him anymore at least the last two times he told me about, and shrooms have never given him an issue.

Is SWIM sure it's proper acid? Hard to imagine LSD doing nothing at all, though I say that as someone whose cat has no experience of LSD personally.

When taken as often as in SWIYs case one is bound to experience severely reduced effects. As mentioned a week of abtinence is minimum to reduce tolerance, a month better. Also SWIchemlove has a point, once the 'surprise hit you in the face factor' is over the trips will in general seem less crazy as SWIM doesn't find himself in unexplored territory with all the anxiety, confusion and uncertainty that may spawn. SWIM has the same feeling with P. cubensis, in the past they kicked his ass but now seem like a sunday stroll, LSD is the same. He doesn't use it often anymore, but the intensity has diminished or different qualities of the trip dominate more, the initial crazyness is gone. In comparative doses mushrooms are more intense for SWIM than LSD though, P. semilanceate and P. azurescens still kicks his ass every now and then, at times they have a tendency to set their own agenda, reducing SWIM to a puppy, while LSD is more like a tabula rosa that can be used for whatever purpose one sees fit.
