Heart palpitations using cannabis?
SWIM had heart palpitations and panic attacks for about 3 weeks after one night out using cocaine and alcohol. SWIM will never touch cocaine again...and wont even be having alcohol for at least 6 months...however..swim would like to use a vaporizer to smoke weed after he gets his new job about 6 months from now. swim is wondering why it seems that some people get heart palpitations after smoking weed? swim does not want to ever have heart palpitations in his life ever again as this was a very scary experience.how can swim avoid getting heart palpitations from smoking weed?

Re: Heart palpitations using weed?
It is very much a psychological phenomena. At the same time SWIM started being more worryful and concentrate more on his body, he started having palpitations. He had been smoking as much before but there was a phase when he had horrific palpitations almost every time. Firstly the pulse will be accelerated if you concentrate on it and don't want it to rise. Secondly, it's very much depends if you pay attention to it. Your heart can beat pretty fast without you noticing if you just go with the flow.
I've noticed that my palpitations were bad when I was sitting or lying, but getting up helped. You're brain uses a lot of energy too; if you let your mind run wildly it can help similarly. But ofcourse thinking about very exciting things raises your heartbeat.
You could also try magnesium. It helps relaxing and lowering heart beat a bit. Beta-blockers are better, but they are under prescription in Finland at least, though not in many mideuropen countrys.

Re: Heart palpitations using weed?
Everyone is different and some people have issues with their heat. I have never met anyone who had problems but i have read about it on here and on other forums, so its something to take serious. I don't know if honestly using a vap will help you in that matter, but in the least the health benefits of using a vap can't be ignored.
If you can afford the $ for a vap go for it, and i doubt you ever regret it.

Re: Heart palpitations using weed?
Maybe one should get his heart checked so that he wouldn't need to get all paranoid. After all 99.9% of the time the danger is only in your thc-filled brains, but ofcourse better err on the side of caution. SWIM himself has had enough with paranoid thinking about his heart and has finally learned to ignore it. Panick attacks can bring on very severe-feeling symptoms, as if one was dying or having a heart attack. SWIM had a few at school some two years ago, but 'grew out' of them. He decided he's not going to faint no matter how horrific it may feel, and that thought of letting go has usually stopped the attacks.

Re: Heart palpitations using weed?
SWIM is a relatively novice smoker, and also has problems with his heart. He often panics when he feels his heart rate increase from smoking. Even though he recognizes that this is a normal effect he finds it hard to calm himself down. He is getting better though

Re: Heart palpitations using weed?
SWIM gets heart palpitations every so often. Sometimes his heart stops for a few seconds before jumping back into action. He went for an echocardiogram a few months ago but was given the all clear.
However, he has never experienced palpitations with THC in his blood and it always feels like his circulatory system works at a much better pace when he's high.
