How to tell if you are about to OD on Crack?

This may seem like a sily question, but Swim wants me to ask on here anyway.

Let's say for the sake of argument that Swim was lucky(?) enough to have bought a reasonably large amount of Crack. However he sometimes has little willpower and those pesky rocks keep speaking to him saying "Smoke me".

How would he know if he was in danger of OD-ing? In fact, can you even OD smoking Crack? Or would it not be possible because it would cost a King's ransome to do so.

I'll pass any useful info onto him. Thanks.

Klaatu

there is definatly risk of ODing on crack, essentially what will happen is as the user closes there eyes takes in the hit they will probablyjust fall back and appear to be passed out but will soon begin to go pale as the heart has stopped, essentially the risks are the same as for powdered cola, seizures, heart attacks etc. as for doses im not sure it all has to do with tolerance, but i mean an inexperienced user with top quality crack taking a full .25 hit in one go id put my money on it that theyl OD.

I must just want to get flamed today because here's another post that'll likely be viewed as bordering on trolling.

SWIM met a guy who got really into smoking crack really quickly, as in he did a lot over the course of a couple months and his tolerance built quickly. He told stories of he and his friend occasionally dropping a XXX (yes, fifty) rock in a hot frying pan and then holding a 2 liter plastic soda bottle, with the bottom cut off, to catch the smoke.

Now he said they'd each kill a XXX rock when it was their turn and would often fall down at some point in the process. This was the kind of thing that was done very rarely as it's super expensive.

I'm mostly curious as to how serious or how likely the risk of OD'ing when the method of admin is strictly smoking. SWIM's never smoked it so he has no experience here.

Also, please don't flame me, I'm not advocating this, I'm not saying to rush out and do this and I'm not saying it's gospel truth. It's just a story a guy told me and I knew the guy OK and he didn't seem prone to exaggeration.

SWIM has had a few serious bingeing sessions where she thought she wouldn't wake up if she fell asleep, particularly after staying awake 48+ hours smoking. Still didn't stop her hitting yet another rock

Maybe the risk of ODing boils down to the individual person's "constitution". And therein lies the rub with charlie - it's very easy for the drug to start doing you as opposed to you doing it, and if SWIY has an unlimited supply, who knows where it will end?

Be careful.

rock in a hot frying pan

I've not heard of this method before - sounds intense (and also somewhat reckless...)

Swim has also done a few serious binges - but falling asleep was never a consideration!!! Quite the opposite in fact.

Handy when you have to be at work in a couple of hours and you cannot remember sleeping or eating for the last couple of days

Too damn expensive to be a regular occurence sadly.

Assuming that a considerable amount of Cola has been smoked but in lots of small hits instead of a few monster ones what are the warning signs that OD land is near?

Last time Swim had more Cola than was strictly necessary he found that he became Very hot and Very sweaty after around 12 hours of non-stop smoking, talking, and listening to music, and talking some more. And hardly any physical activity to account for it. Well, there was a semi-naked young lady there too - but Swim is sure that was just co-incidental

Swim thinks he will keep the Blood Pressure monitor with him the next time he indulges and think about quitting if the old ticker gets above 3,500 beats per minute .....

Everyone is different. SWIX has seen people "O.D." by passing out, by having a seizure, and by acting insane. (Luckily SWIX hasn't come across any stopped hearts). Here are some tips in avoiding O.D.:

• Avoid taking other medications 24 hours before using. In SWIX's experience, especially avoid Wellbutrin / Zyban. Also, any medication with side effects that may include seizures.
• Avoid alcohol, as it can greatly increase your heart rate while using.
• If you feel sick to your stomach, lay off for a half hour or so and see how you feel.

No - you see you're thinking about a regular, Mark one, homo-sapien, two valve, two chamber heart. Swim has a new Japanese, 3.5 litre (that's 212 Cubic Inches for the Americans here) V8, fuel-injected heart. Idles at 1200 bpm and 3,500 bpm is no real problem.

Swim's considering getting it turbo-charged

The size of the heart itself isn't a problem - just a few major organs needed to be relocated first. But the fuel tank and exhaust system is a bitch to fit. Put it like this - there ain't no way I can sit down with a smile on my face these days!

The worst case SWIM has seen was someone trying to keep up with him and puking thier guts out (Dry Yacking) and/or literally not being able to speak or move for 15 minutes. Once someone reaches that point, it generally scares the crap out of them and they quit (For awhile or permanently).
The only people he's ever heard voice a concern about ODing, are Bangers.

Old Dog Learned a New Perspective

SWIM figured that after so many years a truly New experience wasn't going to happen....not so.
A recent business trip south of the border allowed him to acquire 1/2 oz of what looked to be "Peruvian Pink", thats a 20 year old term used because holding a large rock up too light would show a pinkish iridescent glow. Once home, he cooked some up and loaded his normal size hit.....First mistake!!!! He blew that first one out and down to his knees he went with his field of vision narrowing in and out! Now understand, really good coke gives you a very different high from the normal coke found. Anyway, the literal lose of muscle control and vision is something that has never happened to him in 20+years. He firmly believes that at that point he was on the verge of crossing over. He has seen bangers "fall out" and flop around like a fish but NEVER anyone smoking, and he would'nt believe that it could happen to a smoker, unless it happened to him.
Now he understands that the quality played a large part.....but. He can safely state that should anyone else experience that while smoking, take it easy or you'll be pushing daisy's.
Whats even worse is a few days later he pushed it until it
happened again!

What the hell, it would be a shame to die healthy......

Out of all things coke od, are the worse and more painful from what swims heard.

Oddly I thought it would more possible to overdose on normal powdered cocaine than crack , granted crack is more powerful and on the other hand shorter.. But normal coke while not as intense is longer in its duration.

SWIM definately believes the purity had everingthing to do with his experience. As a matter of fact....he shared with another person who, using it by banging, had to cut his "normal" amount in half in order to not Flop!
