Evaporation Technique's

SWIM was researching evaporation technique's and thought that one could go buy a aquarium air pump and put that in a pot with the liquid to increase evaporation. But would the water evaporate faster than putting the liquid in shallow pans in the oven?

Re: Evaporation Technique's

the shallow pans will work faster. Hot days are good when one can put it in the sun in shallow dishes. Others have effectively done it with high output grow lamps also. Another person did it with an egg incubator apparently. SWIY should try any method he is comfortable with and the put the results in the ongoing conversation in the "improved guide"

Cheers.

Re: Evaporation Technique's

Swim thinks that a great evap. method would be to slowly evap. in an oven on the lowest setting with the oven door cracked open. Once MOST of the water is evaporated(not all), put the shallow dish in a rubbermaid type container with some "Damp-Rid" dessicant and tape the rubbermaid lid shut. Swim dried some mushrooms like this one time and they were cracker dry after one night.

Re: Evaporation Technique's

^^^ That works really well.. Just be careful not to touch/ingest the dessicant. Put the drying plate above the dessicant in a tupperware type container and close it really well.

Re: Evaporation Technique's

This summer I made a cheap little food dehydrator thing out of a 1 ft squared box with a 100 watt lightbulb to dry the foods (would take a pic but the damn thing broke). Maybe SWIY could use the design for drying the O?

Re: Evaporation Technique's

SWIethyl, yep, that's exactly what swim used to dry the mushrooms. Swim suspended the container above the dessicant on a layer of window screen in a sealed tupperware container. Swim is going to try this method with the next run of "O". Will post results.

yea that should be fine, the evap might take a little longer but because of the lower temperatures SWIY should achieve good results. (the lower the temp the better the result as a rule of thumb, but as long as one can keep it under 80c it should be fine)

Hope this has helped etc

Re: Evaporation Technique's

The following image may help any swimmers interested in the desiccant drying technique. The image implies that one suspends the aqueous opium solution in a (preferably) shallow pan above a desiccant product sealed in a standard plastic storage container. If a certain swiy was to evaporate the majority of the water from his/her product in a low oven and then move the product to a desiccant chamber he/she could remove the final amount of moisture with NO heat producing a finer end product.deschamber.jpg

Re: Evaporation Technique's

Thanks for the rep Samurai. Swim is going to try this desiccant technique in about a month. Unfortunately he is with some "uncool" people right now. Swim will have to obtain some more dried heads. He unfortunately made a delicious tea out of all his previous supply. Swim never experienced withdraw symptoms with oxycodone but the pods are a different story.

Re: Evaporation Technique's

Awesome, SWIM cant wait to hear SWIYs results. Also, there is a post one made about SWIMs recent experience with CFO. One is going to post soon on how he got it to such a potent level.

peace
