Health - Taking ecstasy when ill/sick?

My friend has a cold - the typical sore throat, blocked/runny nose, stuffy head and headache. This Saturday he intends to consume ecstasy and possibly some ket. A few questions he asked me to post are: Is it ok to take these drugs whilst in this condition? Will he not enjoy the ride as much because he is ill? If he is taking paracetamol or other pain relief to lessen the symptoms, is it ok to take ecstasy or ket with them?

Swim's never taken E but can give a little insight into taking drugs when you're sick. First of all swim would recommend not to do it, and wait till next weekend. This is only for the reason that drugs put a strain on your body no matter how good you feel. Now the lifting of his spirits, and increased consumption of fluids will help for sure with almost any coldy illness. The problem is the strain on your heart, amongst the other parts of your body that are put into overdrive whenever you take a drug. As for possible adverse effects, swim's noticed himself that drugs usually wear him out way easier when he's getting close to sick, however he has never done them sick because he feels that's taking care of his body. Whatever your friends decision hope he has fun while doing it. Hope this helps.

Expect to prolong SWIY's illness. I wouldn't recommend it, just take lots of supplements and vitamins to help the recovery process if you have to do it. As for the last question, I don't see paracetamol and one dose of ecstasy having any noticeable negative side effects.

My friend says thanks for the replies so far. It is a special occasion this Saturday of which he has booked and paid for tickets and accomodation, so he has to attend. He explains if he had a party prescription or two, the occasion would be ten times better. He really can't miss the occasion hence his disappointment that he has caught a cold only three days before.

My ferret took mdma last week while sick with a head cold, he enjoyed the experience, and the cold didn't really take away from it. Having said that the next day his cold was was noticably worse, nothing terribly debilitating, but the night out partying obviously isn't the best cure for illness.

SWIM was quite ill on NYE, he was debating not taking MDMA but as his diareah (SP) had faded he just went for it. once he was up he dosent remember any negetive side effects

SWIM does not recommend you to take MDMA when ill though.

you mentioned your friend may consider some ket... hopefully this would be oral or I.M. or similar... Snorting would do wonders to making the cold worse..

My friend had thought about this, as usually he would insufflate it. Thankfully the symptoms aren't too bad at the moment. He has kept a good diet, boosted his Vit C intake, drank plenty fluids and kept warm. I will direct my friend to the Ket forum for instructions on how to take it orally.

I"ve never done Ket. But I have experienced X on many different things, and also when I was sick, but if you have a high fever be careful because they might give you a higher fever.But WHen I was sick and did X I felt great and I would say go for it!

if its MDA, it may somewhat relieve a cough. when it was first studied for medical use, it was being explored as a cough supressant.

You nor any SWIM out there should take any compounds that could lower your immune system while your sick.

Now I'm not saying it would do anything bad or god forbid worse, but you should take things like E when you feel really good when your happy and in a great positive place.

Most psychedelics have this way of "amplifying" any current mood or state, so i can't see the pleasure in taking that compound while ill.

swim attempted to party with some excellent molly when he was just getting over a bad cold and just couldnt roll. he dosed and redosed and nothing really happened.

but a mixture of being ill and coming down wouldn't be too pretty!

SWIM is about to take 2 doses tonight while having a cold. No sore throat, just runny nose and cough. Did your friend try it? How was it? SWIM will just have 2 or 3 cigz while rollin so it would not make his cough worse. Also the pills SWIM is taking is very mellow and mostly MDMA. SWIM has taken these before and was able to sleep for 5 hours after rollin.

Swim did take ectasy and Swim also managed to insufflate ketamine. Before, he had a very tight chest, blocked nose, full head, but during the high he felt amazing. The symptoms were forgotten. Afterwards he felt the same, so it was nothing too taxing.

Swim says go for it! Stay safe!

Swim will definately try it tonight. Some vicks vapor inhaler and vitamin C wouldnt hurt.
