If the coke was mixed with meth..

SWIM snorted some coke about 2 weeks ago. SWIM has used coke 2-3 times a month for about a year now. But this time, 2 weeks ago...something was different. SWIM could tell that this coke was stronger. The next day after using coke, SWIM felt very different. SWIM's teeth were hurting for some reason. SWIM's teeth were also much duller in color and his teeth just looked drained. SWIM started having heart palpitations and a racing pulse that lasted for 8 hours. Still, 2 weeks later, sometimes SWIM will get palpitations but not nearly as bad as they once were and his pulse never races like it once did.

Does this sound like meth might have been mixed in?

If so, about how long would the physical withdraws from the meth/coke mixture last?

Re: If the coke was mixed with meth..

i have never done either drug but i was under the impression that meth and coke are not physically addictive. if swiy has not done meth before, then he shouldn't be getting withdrawals anyway.
from what i have read on various threads in the forum, it seems like a reaction to stimulants that i similar to swiys is not unheard of. just lay off until it stops. if you are really worried then the next obvious step would be to go to the doctor.
if swiy is physically out of shape, then exercise could prevent this from happening again.

Re: If the coke was mixed with meth..

Seriously, if the heart palpitations persist, you should probably see a doctor. Swiy doesn't have to tell the doctor it is about drugs, just that you are having palpitations. In most states, the doctor isn't supposed to call law enforcement even if it IS drugs. Anyway, if there is meth mixed in with your coke, swiy would have probably noticed it at the time. You would have been up a lot longer, the high would have felt different (not just stronger; from my experience, meth + coke offers a unique high). I'm thinking more than likely you just had some higher quality stuff than swiy is used to. Like above poster said, it may just be a reaction to a strong stimulant. Swim nearly had a stroke while tweaking on meth and swim had been doing it for a year and a half.

Anyway, swim just noticed it's been a month swiy posted this topic, so are your problems still occurring? Did you go to the doctor?

i went to the cardiologist and he did a lot of tests. echocardiogram...blood tests...etc. he said my heart is normal and fine. however, now i have become very aware of my heartbeat and i concentrate on it a lot. it makes it hard for me to get to sleep sometimes because i can feel it beating in my chest sometimes.

If a physician has done tests an declares your heart "normal and fine" then what SWIY is experiencing is probably common anxiety. Some find it hard to decypher a panic attack and a heart attack. This is why many people use benzodiazepines or possibly other anxiolyctics/muscle relaxants. Avoid alcohol as this creates a new more potent compound cocaethylene.

It probably is common anxiety, at least the anxiety that you felt later on probably is. Be careful, though. I went through the "every time my heart feels a bit off I'm having a heart attack" thing and it would definitely make me vulnerable to panic attacks when swim would mess around with stimulants.

Laying in bed at night and being able to feel my heart beat in my abdomen area can get me CLOSE to a panic attack...but I talk myself out of it before it happens. I believe that this is common anxiety because if I can talk myself out of an attack....then it cant be physically related.

Anytime I am out having a couple of drinks my mind will start thinking about my heart more and can also get me close to an attack. Again, I will talk myself out of it.

I am hoping a day will come where I dont EVER have to think about this crap.

The symptoms of anxiety can be quite severe and have an inpact on SWIY's life. The symptoms are very much physically related (e.g blood pressure will rise). See a physician about this. If SWIY lives in a country where benzo's are readily prescribed then he might have some relief. If SWIY does go down this route, be sure to keep the treatment short (no more than 2 weeks), or get the physican to taper SWIY's doseage appropriately.
