Choking on vomit (ketamine)
SWIM wants to use ketamine by himself, at a nasal dosage between 150mg - 200mg, Just enough to get to the K-hole. His plan is to snort the bump of K and the go lay down and wait it out. What are the dangers of throwing up and choking on vomit during a K-hole. Any help would be appreciated by SWIM. peace.

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
My friend doesn't know of any incident where him or his friends have been sick from Ket. He thinks the best way to take Ket is with some good friends in a relaxed, warm environment with some music on, sitting and chatting.

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
The doses needed for K-hole are completely different from sitting and chatting -doses. As far as I know ketamine doesn't suppress gag reflex that much, so there shouldn't be that much of a danger. Don't take my word for it though, and it's best to have a trip sitter just in case. Laying on your side also is better than on your back.

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
Chilling out at home and entering the k-hole was a practice of mine several years ago...a somewhat common practice. Never gagged, definitely never threw up...fell of my couch was the worst of it (continued in the hole for some time..."came-to" and I was on the floor.
Personally, found that there is a little control to the k-hole...meaning if something bad were hapening, or about to happen, you should be able to acknowledge it and react to it...but I doubt anything will happen... Enjoy! |

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
If SWIY hasn't tried it before, try a little bit and see if SWIY feels nauseous. If that goes well and SWIY decides to attempt the K hole, do so on an empty stomach.

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
Euphoric said it all. If SWIY are known to be sick from insufflating other substances then it might be prudent to have a sitter. My Bill has personally never vomited from it but a couple of his friends have.

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
There was a case in NZ a few years back where a gang member died from mixing ketamine and alcohol, he choked on his own vomit. The same night 8 of his associates were hospitalised. The papers read "Ketamine Overdose" which was obviously not the case but I can imagine they took huge doses of both drugs.
vomiting while unconscious is extremely dangerous, even under medical supervision eg. when you have surgery using a general anaesthetic the Dr insists you don't eat for 12 hours before the surgery, because if for some reason you vomit during the surgery, they have no way of stopping the vomit from entering your lungs which will likely kill you. In saying that, the chance of you vomiting is small, but if you do, the risk of death is high. Your lungs can handle a very small amount of water but they can't handle food or vomit. |

Re: Choking on vomit (ketamine)
SWIM has vomited from ketamine once, and it was due to the furnace in his home being turned on and a foul burning smell emitting throughout the house. He has also felt worried while in a K hole that he was in fact vomiting and asphyxiating, but was able to let go of the thought and continue the trip (he was not vomiting). He also has several friends who have vomited from ketamine, but has noticed that they are never in a position where they can not react. SWIM would suggest to SWIY to especially not drink alcohol with the K, and if laying down in a bed, to lay on his side or belly, or even on his back with his head turned to the side.
