Does anyone know what the difference is between KANNA SCELECTIUM TORTUOSUM and KANNA PHARMACEUTICAL ???

I guess the first is the raw plant material and the second the extract

The preperation is slightly different, and pharma grade is supposed to be used in kanna containing pills. I tried both and wasn't really impressed but maybe it was because I was sick. I made me feel a bit wired like with caffiene but nothing that felt to pleasent.

hmmm, Thats strange this was next up in line after Kratom with all the positive experiences related to Kanna...did you smoke it or ingest it. Most said they smoked it I believe. I found alot of positive experiences with smoking it.


Not personally, I was thinking of ordering it.

I have tried smoking it a few times and it always makes me feel like I am kinda burning out after having been realy stoned an hour ago.

I ate it with liquid. It had a sorta nasty bitter taste but not unbarable. The material was to finely ground to be smoked in a pipe and I don't think I would want to snort it, the drip would be pretty bad I'm sure.

I read somewhere that eating it will produce a more sedative effect
where as snorting it will produce more of the euphoric/speedier
effects. I am sure I probably read that on erowid.

snorting kanna always make me very euphoric.... i never really had good effect smoking it....nerver try to ingest it ( i think i will try this soon )..but yes....snorting it give me strong euphoria

When we're talking snorting here, are you talking about insuff. the pharmaceutical or snuff from regular kanna?

I read that in preparing kanna, that is to be bruised before drying to increase the alkaloids signifigantly. If a company were to buy the leaves and not prepare them traditionally, then there's the problem. If one could find acompany that bought the substance prepared properly, not just the leaves, then that would be great. Oh yeah, Iread something else about fermentation of the sceletium, where one place just said bruising. I did a google scholar tool search.

SWIM asked me to find out the following: if you add lime powder or baking soda to the kanna powder, will that help with the burning one suffers from inhalation? Does it make any difference at all? thanx

swim snorted and smoked kanna with absolutely no effect - tried it several times - no dice.

swim thinks that there is a lot to be said for the placebo effect - if you want it bad enough...you can convince yourself that something is going on.

There are 8 grades ok Kanna the pharma grade is very high quality high alkaloid level, then smokers grade. Can also be supplied as a tincture which you put in a liquid, swim uses sprite and a few drops of tincture and rates it very highly. See ebay

SWIM has tried recently the mouth spray and he is disapointed.

Zero effects and very disgusting. He isn't going to give up with kanna, but he's never trying comercial preparations again, he will grow a few and test them himself..

i personally love kanna it works great for me ,i use it instead of evil zoloft ,it works better every day you do it and its in your system ,potent SSRI ,so watch out you can get seretonin syndrome ,.
