Flake help

SWIM tried to smoke his fresh made tar but when he spread it on the side of the bowl and tried to smoke it all it did was smolder and produce no smoke. Does anyone have any clue what i did wrong. It has the consistency of thick honey oil and is really sticky.

It's probably not very pure. Is SWIyour "flake" pure extracted latex blead from live poppy pods or did swiy extract it from dried pods? Did the opium produce any faint vapor when swiy put the flame near it? We need more info before producing an answer for swiy.

It may also have too much moisture in it. Let us bees know more.

SWIM let his opium dry over a space heater for a hour or so and hardened a bit to the consistence of taffy. Tried smoking it again by cutting it into strips and putting it in my pipe and that worked pretty good.

Cool. If swiy wants to purify his "O" even more, he could dissolve it in water, put it in the freezer until the water is ice cold(if it freezes just thaw it) and filter through 3 wet coffee filters while still ice cold. Then slowly evaporate the water as swiy did before. That should remove more of the insoluble fats and other nastiness.

yea thats all mentioned in the Quick guide to CFO. Paraffin wax is also good for removing molecules smaller than that, basically removing the last of all fats and waxes which cannot be removed by the Ice-o-lation technique alone. worth a look if one is into these kinds of things.
