What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
Was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of anything like this happening?
Let say for example if someone asked you this question, what advice explanation would you have? "My first time taking x was about 8 months ago and 2nd time about a month or so after that.. Well I really didnt feel much from it, not like I would of thought.. It was me and my guy we stayed home listened to music, watched tv and talked.. I did get a dry mouth, and for about 20 minutes I wanted to tell him how much I loved him.. but that was about it.. and the next day I felt pretty down and depressed both times.. (the 2nd time I drank 2 mixed drinks with it, but that didnt help much either) He says he felt great, and it was awesome, but I just didnt feel much from it.. I've had much better times just getting drunk. Im just wonderin if Im doin/not doin something wrong here lol (stupid question I know) We are going to be takin a pill each again soon, and I want to feel what everyone else is from taking X.. He is excited, but Im not so much because it really wasnt much of a good time to me.." -------------------------------------------------------- |

Re: What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
Many different things could be the blame, but the likely problem was likely getting a bunk pill. Ecstasy is very popular, and there is money to be made in it's trade, and the designers of the pills know this, and put whatever they like into their pills. It's very difficult to find a pill containing just MDMA (the drug you're looking for). The only way to know for sure the quality of your pill is to get a pill tester.
My advice to this person would be to give it another shot, but try to find people in the area that have already tried the pill you're getting and can have some kind of hope the pill is good. |

Personal body chemistry could play a role too..

I think SSRIs block MDMA activity.

Re: What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
swim actually blocked an MDMA experience once. Everyone around him all loved up hugging in the warm waters of a certain spanish island in the early 1990's. swim sitting on the beach, unable to join in or have fun, thinking, "not feeling it, not feeling it"
this was after a rather intense 2 week, in which swim had taken MDMA quite a few times ( yes, young and foolish). After a couple of depressing hours of sitting and being occasionally hugged, while thinking "not feeling it", swim got up, and then it hit him. swim was actually rolling pretty well, but had blocked the pleasant part by focusing on this. Of course, there were other factors involved, like fatigue ( this was after a sleepless night, again young and foolish) and plain simple serotonine depletion / tolerance, but still, mindset is of crucial importance. b |

Re: What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
MDMA activity, though inherently productive in the area of endogenous neurotransmitters, does not have the inherent properties of a 'good' or 'bad' feeling. Though the neuropharmacological aspects and actions of serotonin are still widely unknown and debated, the known understanding of it's roles in the human brain and body vary greatly, from sleep and pain management, to the more sought after mood-control. Floods of excess serotonin do not imply any inherent feeling and can easily be routed to various other uses, leaving mood and physical orientation relatively unchanged. To have no noticeable difference is still mildly indicative of a non-ingestion (bunk pills), though it is fully feasible (and in swimy experience, both possible and common to the 'hard-of-feeling') that no perceived psychological impact could occur. Pinchbeck found himself feeling little to no impact from even the most intense of psychedelics due to his self-proclaimed "hard head", and the selective perception of 'psychological impact'. As an example, swim, as a schizophrenic, finds that higher doses of many psychedelics, including LSD, Psilocybin, and MDMA, are necessary to provide a noticeable impact. With enough psychological self-discipline, there is little that cannot be endogenously produced, and psycho-self-defense is a feasibly impactful control-factor. Those with a naturally 'altered-state', may require higher doses to 'feel it', as both chemically and emotionally, the impact is literally lessened.

Re: What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
first time swim and his friends took pills. it hit his friends first, he then thought they were putting it on a bit by saying it was good, so then for a while swim was thinking they werent gtood pills. then like an 2 hours after it hit his friends he went on a trampoline and started having fun, suddenly it hit him.
i think you need to embrace it and go with it |

Re: What are some reasons for a person not feeling it?
I've also read somewhere in this forum that seretonin release is usually heightened by stimulation. Therefore by sitting around and waiting for the roll to hit SWIY, you give it less a chance to kick in noticeably. SWIM usually doses then Continues with whatever activity he planned on doing in conjunction with ecstasy. He will have fun then eventually his chemical friend will add in some extra euphoria to his activity.
