Ive been searching for a gradual way of taking salvia. The oral tincture was a waste of time. I was wondering how I read that the indians would chew the salvia leaves to abtain the desired effect. Well has anyone tried chewing/sucking on salvia extract and achieved a effect ??? If not im gonna try putting almost a gram of 15x salvia extract into my mouth for some time...leftover because I do not like smoking the stuff. I regret it every time. |

Ok I could bring myself to chew on the nasty shit. And the discouraging buzz I received from smoking turned me off and its still sitting in my drawer

Well I chewed a gram of 5x extract and it didn't do anything. Chewing seems to be a waste of extract, but if you hate smoking it, you should eventually try it when you can get yourself to do so. (im assuming you ment you couldn't bring yourself to chew it?) You should be able to get effect from 15x extract. When and if you get around to it please post a report.

use a friggin' waterbong!
for christs sake.. its only 1 hit you need, whereas a weed joint you're smoking like 25 times. Chewing does nothing for extracts |

I need definitely more than 1 hit. I have to smoke a whole gram of 10x
extract for it to effect me, and I have to be bloody quick about it, basically holding lungfulls of it in for 40 seconds then going for another without a break. But when it hits, it hits ![]() |

I personally prefer chewing quid over smoking. It is a longer, more mellow experience. Unfortunatly salvia is extremely bitter.

My Salvia experiences have all been with either a tincture or a quid with fresh leaves.
A big advantage for me with the tincture was that I could precisely control the dose. With high doses I went and came back with little or nothing in the way of experience -- sort of a waste. I had heard that low doses were great for both sex and meditation; however, with low does I was simply annoyed and uncomfortable. While I could function sexually -- surprising given my mood -- there was no pleasure in it. The physical contact, consistent with everything else, was simply annoying. Sort of like Goldilocks, a moderage dosage was awesome and took me to some amazing places. At a moderage dose, Salvia is one of my favourites. A quid had the extra complexity of all the leaves in the mouth. While I have had good experiences with it, it is much less predictable for me than the tincture. I found Daniel Siebert's "The Salvia divinorum User's Guide" to be helful when I was first becoming acquainted with Salvia -- http://sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html |

Would not suggest chewing extract; waste of money. Get some leaves of decent potency, soak them in warm water, and chew away. Brush your mouth out with minty toothpaste first; enhances absorption. You might add a little Peppermint Schnapps to the chewed mixture. Effective, "slower" than smoking and therefore more conducive to calm visualization and contemplation. I've had some very emotional and satisfying experiences this way, but the chewing and all that plant material is REALLY distracting. Salvia gives weird body distortions anyway, so chewing can feel like your jaw is ten feet long, and your saliva is a lake swishing back and forth, etc. (think of when you get something caught in your teeth and it feels huge even when sober ....). And it does taste pretty awful. I guess the key is to get the salvinorin into your bloodstream, spit and enjoy. You just have to get over the hurdle of the incredible distraction of all that plant matter in your mouth. <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> Edited by: gn2osis |
