SWIM would appreciate knowing whether or not a single 2mg dose of Clonazepam (provided that SWIM has not used other benzodiazepines recently) is likely to trigger a positive result for benzodiazepines on a urine test administered 48-72 hours after use if anyone here is familiar with the subject.

SWIM knows that Diazepam (Valium) stays in the human system for up to three weeks. SWIM has had many friends fail drug tests because they assumed benzo's were out of the system in no more than ten days.

Alprazolam (Xanax) is said to be completely gone in seven days. Clonazepam (Klonopin) is a longer acting benzo than Alrpazolam, so SWIM would suspect that it may stay in one's system slightly longer.

Benzo's attach to fat cells, much like THC, so they can be tricky to predict. A lot of other factors play into a positive or negative drug test for benzo's. The general concensus, for SWIM anyway, and excluding Diazepam (Valium), is nine days.

SWIM did indeed pass, however he would like to make it clear (as he considers himself very lucky and would not like anyone else to make a mistake based on his bad advice) that he did not end up being tested until 5 days after the ingestion and only used a single 2mg dose for sleep purposes and had not used benzos of any kind at all in the past several months preceding this and has never been a heavy user. SWIM has a fast metabolism and drank lots of water (especially immediately before the test), but maybe under slightly different circumstances he would not have been as lucky and will be careful not to put himself in this situation again and would advise others to take the same care, since by all logic he should not have passed.

SWIM is interested to know the actual detection time of heavy use of Clonazepam (Klonopin). Benzo's are tricky, because they are stored in fat cells. They can stick around a lot longer than anyone intended.
