USA - Screwed... Please help legal problem... need advice

Okay so here is SWIM's story. Any input or advice from any member besides how dumb SWIM is would be much apreciated. SWIM did something really stupid one night and had in his procession a blank medical script from a friend's dad who is a dentist. Swim's friend and SWIM decided to fill in the script forge the signature and get a 10 day supply of Loratab 10mg (40 tablets). SWIM’s friend actually forged the signature and filled in the Script while SWIM ran in the script to the pharmacy made out to him (Original SWIM). He check the script over again and again and it looked perfect down to the signature. Swim went the pharmacy got it filled and thought everything was fine. No questions asked . Until a week later when he got a call from his friend saying the pharmacy was asking his dad's office questions and his dad had found out about the script. His dad the dentist is very mad and said he was not going to lie for SWIM’s dumb mistake. His dad now has to call the pharmacy Monday and tell them what happened. SWIM has no idea what to do or what to say when the police come asking questions and he is sure they will or where to look for a lawyer for his defense. Swim is really freakin out here, he’s hoping you guys will have some comforting advice. He also is perplexed as to why it took a week for the pharmacy to follow up on this. The rumor from his dad is the pharmacy in question knew right away it was a forged script. So why would the pharmacy fill it in the first place. Could the pharmacy also get in trouble for this too? By the way this is in NY state and Loratab is a controlled substance.
