Other - Extraction from bong scum

I was curious as to wheather there is a method of extracting THC from thealready smokedweed from inside my bong. We used to dry it and smoke it when we had no buds, but sureley there would be something worth turning into oil??? Any ideas?

Do you mean already smoked weed or the dirty oily smelly tar in the tube. I used to smoke that when i was younger and it gave me a buzz but was absolutely minging to smoke. I even used to mix it with a bit of soapbar to make sticky black hash! Ahh... them were the days. Tried to extract decent oil from it using the butane gas method a couple of weeks back just to see 'cos curiosity got the better of me but even filtering all the solid particles out didn't get rid of the horrible smell. Not advisable. Chuck it in the bin.

There's gotta be so much gross stuff in there that it wouldn't be worth
it. Imagine how much tar and toxic stuff must be in there stickin' to
the walls. What you really need is some backup friends you can count on
when in need

Yep, it was a daft idea but in the end it had to be tried or it would stay as one of life's mysteries. Discovering hash-oil went to our heads i think. Smoke nice hash, Charis, pollum, Manali up here and some bud but when there's nothing on the go my backup mates will always have some bum hash i can make into oil. Only thing for it. "backup mates"- doesn't sound right though!!

Heh, SWIM actually cleans his pipe in alcohol and then evaporates off the alcohol to leave behind the tar residue. He then scrapes it up and smokes it.

But only when times are tight.

that tar has very little THC and lots of nasty carcinogens. The only THC in the bong is the unburned plant material sucked into the water. After all, the water is meant to filter out dust and water soluble crap. There may be a small amount of THC adhered to the sides of paraphenalia, but overall it is little if none compared to the huge amount of concentrated toxic tar being inhaled. SWIM would rather not smoke, though SWIM did scrape a few pipes in the past out of desperation. SWIM has grown up a bit since then and would not consider doing it now. In fact, SWIM usually tosses out the ash in the bowl once it turns black though it could still be toked a few more times. Most of the THC is gone in the first few hits...

SWIM agrees, but resin is decent smoke. I just don't think the resin inside a glass chamber would be good for anything. SWIM tried using resin from inside his pipe with bad results.
