Modafinil + alcohol

Recently swim has been experimenting with Modafinil - a stay awake drug similar to stimulants.

Swim was unable to find much information regarding its use with alcohol, so decided to use himself as a guinea pig :S

The results: Modafinil drastically lowers swims tolerance to alcohol.. to the point where swim was far more drunk that he has been before, and after only 5-6 pints.
The evening ended with plenty of vomit and swim is now enduring THE worst hangover he has ever had.

So! Dont drink if you have taken modafinil... Unless you want to get wasted quickly and feel awful afterwards!

Re: Modafinil + alcohol

My pet monkey has never had this problem. He often complains that on an evening where he is just drinking (ie no other drugs involved) that he has a tendency to get sleepy. However, he finds that 50mg of modafinil at the start of the evening prevents such sleepiness. He does not observe and change in his alcohol tolerance.
