Hello, all...

First of all, swim did UTFSE about combining alcohol and benzos, xanax, in his case... and although the information about harm reduction regarding the combo, he didn't quite find alot of in depth information...

swim is fairly experienced with mixing alcohol and xanax, and always airs on the safe side when it comes to dosing. he feels he is a very responsible person when it comes to mixing these two drugs.

swim have a moderate alcohol tolerance, so he usually ends up adding more alcohol into the equation than your average drinker would...

The point of this post is to hear, in detail, how YOUR friends combine xanax, or other benzos, with alcohol..
swim usually pops his xanax( usually 1-2 mg), waits 20 minutes or so, until he can feel the effects, and then starts taking shots of 80 proof windsor canadian..
Would starting with the alcohol first, and then adding the xanax make the combination more enjoyable?
Would taking more xanax, and less alcohol do the trick?

SWIM usually takes 1mg and grabs a drink at the same time. SWIM doesn't like taking large doses of Xanax (alprazolam) with alcohol, as he always gets carried away with the alcohol. Too much Xanax just sedates him and makes him forget everything when combined with 2mg+.

After taking the Xanax and the first drink, SWIM usually just continues drinking until he reaches the point he wants to be at. That would normally be about 5-6 drinks in a 3-4 hour period, he would say. SWIM does have a moderate tolerance to both alprazolam and alcohol. SWIM advises people without a tolerance to take lower amounts of both these substances, as these doses will probably just cause them to fall asleep, or even cause severe respiratory depression.

SWIM finds that drinking one or two drinks before popping the Xanax can work out nicely, but don't take any if you're drunk. It will probably just knock you out, or at the very least make you forget everything that happened that night. SWIM normally prefers more alcohol over more Xanax, but everyone has different preferences. Experiment a bit and see what suits you best, just be careful not to take too much of either.

well in most of swims experiences if you take the xanax after you drink it hits you alot harder. swim would rather be safe and take the benzo before the alcohol because he would sometimes get crazy or really depressed when he takes pills while drunk. and btw if your taking only 6-7 shots a night i really wouldnt be worried about the effects but if your drinking alot of alcohol like say 13-20 shots the xanax will slow your heart down beat down to a unstable level. Of chourse this is just what swim heard from a doctor
