Thanks for that!

Swiss is still fighting but will never give up! A tiny relapse has left her feeling low & angry that its back to sq 1, but things are looking up as big changes are being made, and great things to look forward to - and enjoying life without a certain substance..

Well done, best of luck and take care.

Merry Christmas!

Re: Never Give Up

I think relapses are THE most common reason for people giving up, though I don't have any resource that says so.

The OP is right on! Don't give up. Getting sober and recovering what can be recovered after years of abuse and damage can be VERY rewarding. If one falls down/relapses do not count oneself out. It is just like learning in that one must make mistakes to know how to avoid them in the future. This doesn't mean everyone has to relapse to get sober but it happens to even the best and is just part of the recovery. Many people just can't imagine themselves sober... I was once one of them. Sobriety can be had by anyone.

Stay sober today and you're on your way!

Re: Never Give Up

seven times the rightous will fall and seven times he will be raised up

its hard bro, but your right you just cant give up. Someone once told me that if your putting a 100% into recovery, you get 100% back. Swim been clean for about 3 years but alcohol is the one i have trouble with. But most of the time swim refuses to let his family down. Swim will never hurt his family again and friends again. when he is around drugs swim tells the craving to go away cause he is to busy doing the right thing. swim was shocked at the new person he became, he had lots of help to find that person. 12 steps was a life saver
