Suboxone: Sick the next day?

Hello.
So, SWIM has taken suboxone a couple times.
Once he took 2mg sublingual, with hardly any effect.
Then (another day) he took 1mg insufflated, with pretty intense effects. Very long duration (about 10 hours!) - heavy nodding, not all that much euphoria. He got sick twice, but felt fine afterwards.

Last night he, again, insufflated 1mg. He was good all night, then he puked twice again. But this time, the next morning (today) he was puking and dry heaving all morning and started getting a slight headache. He managed to eat a salad and some chicken, and is feeling WAY better.

But what gives? He hasn't had any other opiates in a while. All he can think of is that he had 1mg Klonopin the day prior, and drank the day prior to that. He sees no reason why he would get withdrawls the next day. It actually didn't feel like withdrawls to swim, it just felt like too much of an opiate.

Perhaps he just has an incredibly low tolerance to bupe? I mean, it's very long lasting, that could explain the sickness the next day.

Just curious. He doubts any nalaxone had any play in this, but was just wondering what your thoughts are for SWIM.

He has another 2mg suboxone he wanted to split with his ladyfriend (and .5mg he is tempted to take today - I'm sure he has somewhat of a tolerance now and won't get sick from.5), but is now a bit weary. Maybe he will take .5mg next time with his ladyfriend. He hopes that 1mg will at least have a decent effect for her as well. Some people don't get any effects that low, correct?

Anyway, just wondering your thoughts. Thanks!

Re: Suboxone: Sick the next day?

actually now that he thinks of it, he did take about 500mg of DXM about a week prior to taking this suboxone. DXM is a partial opiate, correct? Maybe this is a reason for the sickness?

Re: Suboxone: Sick the next day?

Did SWIY have any alcohol at all? This too has happened to SWIM about 4 times because he drank beer when on it and the next day he threw up everything he ate/drank the whole day only feeling comfortable laying down. But just one time SWIM got sick for no reason as well and was very confused.

Re: Suboxone: Sick the next day?

buprenorphine is a potent and very long lasting opioid. its half life is about 36 hours. that is why the sickness almost guaranteed.

Re: Suboxone: Sick the next day?

Well make sure SWIM is in mild to full withdrawal before taking the suboxone, otherwise he will possibly get sick. Buprenorphine is a very potent opium and will give a high to opium-naive people. Just watch the suboxone treatment, because if anything bad happens such as a bad break or fall and you need pain killers, they most likely won't work until the Suboxone is out of your system. I believe there is a drug that counter-acts the Suboxone, but that is only if the doctor knows obviously. If you are taking less Suboxone than obviously you will feel effects of other opiates, but the more you take daily, the longer you'll have to wait, around 72 hours max. Half life is around 36 hours for buprenorphine.

Re: Suboxone: Sick the next day?

Swiy isn't the only one.Suboxone is evil shit and swim will argue that with anyone.Atleast the other opiates don't feel so chemical or have that awful naloxone in them.Swims theory is the pharmaceutical companies and the pigs in power would rather punish addicts than actually help them be better.Suboxone makes swim sick to this day.
