Re: Valoron

Does SWIY mean Naltrexone? Naloxone is someting to only be used in an emergency if someone overdoses. Unless one wants to feel violently ill...

Re: Valoron

swiy means that stuff

Valoron® N

sorry only in german Valoron n has Naloxon in it, that shall help to avoid misuse. you cant injekt it then.

Re: Valoron

My German is not up to scratch, another forum member will be able to help you out. Though it seems Valaron is a opioid analgesic with similar painkilling propeties to morphine in the control of moderate to severe pain.

http://www.online-medical-dictionary.org/?q=Valoron

If this is so, it should be able to help SWIY with his pain control.

Re: Valoron

It seems a bit silly to mix it with an antagonist, would this greatly reduce the analgesic effects of the Valoron?

Re: Valoron

The dosages in Valoron N (it does indeed contain naloxone) were probably calculated so that the product will give adequate pain relief when used as directed (orally), but counter the effects (or induce withdrawal in addicts) when injected (very low doses of naloxone are rumored to potentiate opiates, while high doses obviously block their action).

There is no easy (kitchen chemistry) way to separate the naloxone from the tilidine.

From wikipedia: In Germany, tilidine is available in a fixed combination with naloxone for oral administration (Valoron N® and generics); the admixture of naloxone is claimed to lower the abuse liability of the opioid analgesic[5].

Re: Valoron

Yes, what? Abuse liability is not equal to analgesic efficacy when used as directed.

Re: Valoron

naloxone is not only used for opiate overdoses, there have been marketed drugs world wide and trials using conbinations with naloxone as has been stated in other threads.

Interestingly enough, naloxone is synthesized from Thebaine as are the "codone" drugs. heh.
