Exclamation Ways of dealing with K-pain

Since two hospitals couldn't help swim, and from what swim reads everywhere else about how people are looking for ways to try and deal with the pain, swim though he should create a post where we could all give ways that have helped deal with the pain from prior experience ONLY.

Swim knows that the climax of the Kpain is almost impossible to get rid of, so the main thing is to deal with it as best as possible and at least make the rest of the pain a bit better.

Here are ways that swim has found to lower the pain:

Prior and During the climax:
- Keep your blood pressure up by:
- Drinking orange or apple juice. (even add in more sugar)

- Water + sugar is also fine.
- Don't eat solid or hard to digest foods, some multi vitamin shakes seemed to help. Swim found it very hard to even think about eating, however you need to get some vitamins and nutrients in your body.
- Swim found that laying down on his back in a comfortable position, surrounded with pillows and a 'hot pack' on the lower part of his chest/abdominal helped A-LOT. The least movement in this position the better.
- Avoid standing up. As soon as swim stood up his pain shot up so much that his blood pressure dropped, vision went very, started to heavily sweat, and nearly faint and have his eyes roll back. Should this happen, drink a cup of water or orange/apple juice with LOTS of added sugar in it, this will increase your blood sugar and blood pressure.
- Stay away from mixed fruit juices, as some may lower your blood pressure.

- Stay away from Pops/soda. This will cause more bloating.
- Avoid taking any sort of pain killers, they will most likely not help, and contain chemicals which can cause even more damage. Swim was at the hospital and was shot with 2 needles of some sort of pain killers which did pretty much nothing.
- You can try some pepto bismol, swim did not find it too helpful during the climax, however it did come in handy for the day after.

--> The main thing during the climax of the pain is really just to lay down with a hot pack on your stomach and even lower back (as back pain will follow) and try and stay in one relaxed position. It is always good to have someone around that you can talk with, or watch TV to keep your mind off it. Anxiety makes it worst, so the more you keep your mind off it, and stop thinking that you are going to die, the better off you would be. This is much easier said than done,

SWIM also found that sleeping pills (even taking a whole bunch) did not do much. So it's better if you stay away from that as well to keep as less chemicals out of your body.

Alcohol would also be a big NO.

After the climax.
Usually the next day, there will still be some pain and discomfort. However it should be A LOT better than the day before.

During this time try and get some healthy soft foods in you. Foods that you know your body can digest well and wont cause problems. Swim had some California rolls (sushi). Some sort of healthy soup would also be good (not just tomato or mushroom soup).

Some warm tea with sugar and/or honey was always helpful.

Still try and drink a good amount of orange/apple juice to keep your blood pressure up and stay hydrated.

Taking a vitamin pill is always good, and even better if its in liquid form (gel cap, or syrup)

Reframe from doing too much movements. However if you are feeling at times that the pain is low enough, and that your blood pressure well, than swim has found it very helpfull to take a nice hot bath, as his back was killing him from all the laying down and abdominal pain.
- DO NOT try and take a hot shower while you are having major pain (especially if there is no one else in the house with you). chances are your blood pressure will drop and it would be more probable and fatal to pass out in the shower.

-----------------------

Okay so the above is basically a good outline of what swim as done from his past experience of multiple k pain incidents (including 2 very major ones) and has found it to be helpful. The above info is solely a personal opinion and is not a medical proven way to treat the K pain. The reaction you may have to methods that swim has used in the past can differ.

You can always goto the hospital, however swim has found that doctors do not know a whole lot about K pain, or a way it could be treated. SWIM has had a very negative experience with the hospital as all they did was waste some time, then not care becuase they could not find what the problem was. So they stopped treating it as an emergency, even though the pain was there.

SWIM however does recommend that if the pain is to the point that your blood pressure is very low (and not going up even after having sugars). To call for an ambulance right away. As you will need Oxygen since your breathing pattern and oxygen levels will drop and can be fatal and cause brain damage. There is nothing wrong with going to hospital for substance abuse and no need to worry about police getting involved.

Swim thinks it would be nice if SWIY can post methods they have used in order to deal or help with the pain.

Please do not make posts saying "you deserve the pain if you take that much K" or what not. No point in that, if you want to express your opinion in that way, post somewhere else, as anyone (even if they abused a substance) still deserves help. Same way that millions is spent on treating lung cancer patients due to cigarettes.

Re: Ways of dealing with K-pain

Please enlighten me a little bit on this subject. I have never heard of experiencing pain (assuming its physical?) from taking ketamine until reading this post.

Re: Ways of dealing with K-pain

the only real way to combat it is to stop taking it, either that or stop letting it get into the stomach or if thats not possible drink orange juice or something acidic at the time,

Re: Ways of dealing with K-pain

K-pain will not go away. It is a type of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) or ulcerative cystitis. An infection in the bladder that can almost completely block the passage causing "pain and irritation to the bladder and pelvic area, and thereby causes various urination symptoms."

SWIM is scared to get this ulcerative cystitis so SWIM has recently quit.
