Opinions - Favorite Cheap Beer?

most of us are past the days of low-budget high school parties, but what is your favorite cheap beer? i've always been a fan of wisconsin's Pabst Blue Ribbon..

red cap, although i think it's only available in canada. next would have to be carling.
blue ribbon is WAAAAAY down at the bottom of the list for me along with wells and mongoose.

Id have to go with either millar highlife or steal reserve 211s. but i guess the steal reserve is acually a malt liquer, but it always got swim wasted really fast.

PBR and Steel Reserve are both tops on the list. Pabst apparently also has a GOLD ribbon beer, but that sounds a little fancy for my tastes.

hurricane 40's, or lionshead cases. hurricane is 2$ or 3 for 5$ where im from and lionshead is 11$ a case of bottles. good stuff

The trick with this one, and indeed all of the super-strength lagers, is to get them good and cold. The fridge alone is not good enough - you need to get it down to fridge temperature and then put it in the freezer for about half an hour. Once you get them below zero they are quite bearable. Or so I've heard.

Oh this was my favourite! That and its cheap copy, Kestrel. I have yet to see it over here yet.

Swim likes michelobe ultra and keystone light as far as cheap beer goes. In regards to low budget alcohol i wont venture much further then a small bottle of el jimador tequila varying in hangovers and head aches... As far as beer though michelobe is tasty and refreshing.

Steel Reserve 211! In cans or 40 oz. I actually prefer the slightly toxic taste.

PBR(pabst blue..)is awsome! it tastes great(for generic beer)its cheap,what more could you want?huricane? thats not beer thats toxic waste,

How cheap are we talking here? The cheapest and most cost-effective drunk for a small group of people would be a 30-pack of Busch Ice. Mmmm...

But slightly more expensive and still relatively cheap, my favorite would have to be Rolling Rock. So. Good.

Labatts isn't too pricey and is a decent brew. Otherwise, swim doesn't really buy cheap beer or enjoy it much. He will drink whatever at parties, and some Natty Ice paired with drinking games can make for an enjoyable evening, but swim just doesn't care to drink watery and flavourless beer.

Do you mean the Dutch brand Bavaria? Or a German(Bavarian) brand? If you mean the Dutch one, it is often compared to the waste water one is left with after doing the dishes in the Netherlands, not really a flattering compliment if you ask me... Amstel is much better, and still one of the cheapest of the brand beers.

IMO Dutch beers are the best. Though not exactly cheap elsewhere in the world, Heineken, Amstel and Hoegaarden are among the best tasting SWIM has ever tried.

Over here I think the best cheap beer is the 'famous' Romy on all the festivals&partys like Dour(was it romy?Swim's not sure.black hole...).Most people think it's crappy but after some time you get used to it and even start to like it.If Swim & his partner in crimes go somewhere it's Cara(costs about 75 cent for 0.5liter I think..).Doesn't cost a rats ass.Btw Rockmachine,Hoegaarden is belgian.Doesn't exist anymore in it's original form.Brewery went overhead,they still make it but it tastes different many say.Best ordinary bar beer is Jupiler
