Abort/Small-Mushroom Dosage
Aborts. How does one best ingest them, harvest them, and gauge for their potency?
Halted growth in mushroom development results in a partially-grown fruit-body with a reasonable psilocybin content hidden under a veil of decomposition. If picked early, before degradation creates toxins in the fruit-body, the abort will not endanger the surrounding mushrooms. Once picked however, a psilocybin content can be wildly hard to determine. The content of cubensis mushrooms is already a vast spectrum of potency, but there are a few general rules by which one can determine potency, besides of course the psychonautic leap of ingestion. The most applicable rule in this situation in diminishing potency by size. Stamets and Gartz, through a lengthy series of analyses, determined that lesser weighing mushrooms contained a higher psilocybin content by weight, than the larger, heavier mushrooms. Accordingly, aborts have been shown to have surprisingly high amounts of both psilocybin and psilocin, with a lack of baeocystin.
Any thoughts on application to ingestion? Experience?
