"The True Life" on MTV - Adderall abuse episode

daffy duck couldnt believe how many people out there abuse adderall THE EXACT SAME WAY he DOes AND HAVE BEEN LIVING WITH FOR 2 YEARS!!!

he's been living for 2 years not knowing how he's still able to get away with using adderall to get high so often!

like the other ppl interviewed on the show, he prefers adderall over the illicit forms of the drug

some ppl on the show use it strictly as a study aid, which is how daffy started using it - but he was like holy crap this is key to educational success!!!! AND FEELING GOOD!! eventually daf started doing it just because he wanted to. and more often. and since then everything has pretty much fallen completely apart for that poor duck. BUT He ACTUALLY HAD himSELF CONVINCED AT SOME POINT IN THE BEGINNING THAT he WAS IMMUNE TO ADDICTION AND DEPENDENCY, AND THAT he WAS a very SPECIAL duck, THAT IT CANNOT AND WILL NOT HAPPEN TO him!! he had it all worked out how he was going to just sail through school and enjoy it - and of course by now he sees he COULDNT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG ABOUT THE ENTIRE THING!

these ppl are just like daffy!!! and he feel as if he's a dumbass to think he was one of select few ppl doing it recreationally or productively using very large doses and becoming entirely controlled by the drug!!!

and worse - If this thing is on MTV of all channels, that means its become popular, and has evolved into a trend......and if daf even started to think he was following a trend of any sort, he'd cut off all association with that thing until the trendhoppers find something else to do to be socially accepted-

he cant believe its actually making him want to try harder to stay away from it! that super independent duck cant be an acessory to some bullshit cause or trend by some godamn debutant gang member or a spoiled bitchass rich kid and his dogshit collection of "expensive things that increase my popularity and social rank!

Re: "The True Life" on MTV - Adderall abuse episode

Swiy sounds like swiy used to like it because swiy thought no one did it, and now swiy hear that tons of people abuse it and swiy don't like it anymore??? Thats very emo sounding of swiy, and generally the people who think that by some freak occurrence they are immune to dependency are those who are most likely to develop addictions.

And I dont even know what you mean by "i cant be an acessory to some bullshit cause or trend by some godamn debutant gang member or a spoiled bitchass rich kid and his dogshit collection of "expensive things that increase my popularity and social rank!" People for the most part don't take adderall to be socially accepted, but because it works.

Adderall is one of the most abused prescription meds there are, ESPECIALLY in college. Swim would classify himself as one, as he works 12 hrs/day 5 days a week as well as going to school fulltime and it just makes it a ton easier to get everything needed accomplished. If this makes swim some trendhopping rich kid then I believe you need to seriously rethink whatever you currently think.

I think that if your using anything to get high because you think its not mainstream then you are contributing to the problem more than helping it.

He's the only one.....JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA!!!! 8 year olds are perscribed this stuff and parents wonder why there little angel is hooked on drugs.

When Smurf was in school he saw ADHD meds abused all the time but mainly only sold by the provider(who got it perscribed). Usually the seller refused to take the med and wanted to get money instead to buy something else.

Re: "The True Life" on MTV - Adderall abuse episode

I am a firm believer in stimulant use. Swim was diagnosed adhd years ago and tried concerta with little to no effects. Recently he obtained 30 x 10mg generic xr ritalins which are essentially concerta just instant release as opposed to sustained release. anywhoo, upon insufflating 10 mg swim instantly felt all the "clicking and bonding" of thoughts like he would on other more powerful stims, but alas the strong euphoria that usually destroys desire to maintain concentration was absent and swim just felt "right". Until this experience he never felt satisfied from using drugs. Now comes the hard part of not letting things go south by trying to reach a recreational threshold. Swim also notes that there is no crash compared to the infinite pergatory that is cocaine comedown. He just notices mental sharpness fade very abruptly.

So without meaning to hijack this thread; has anyone else experienced a vast diff from time release methylphenidate vs immediate? and yes swim is referring to crushing the time release ones.

Swim also believes there is a fine line which one walks on when mixing stims with a underlying add condition. Zoning out often happens when euphoria kicks in and heightened stimulation becomes depleted instantly with too much stimulus as well as too much stimulants.

"I can get etc etc done" can turn into a compulsive need that transfers to every activity that comes to mind.
