Roll broken into 'sections'

Swim recently acquired a new batch of mdma pills, and he put them to the test last night. The first pill took about an hour to hit him, but when it kicked in it was a very nice high. But half an hour later swim was feeling practically normal again. He decided to let it go for a bit, and came up again about 20 mins later. This repeated about 3 or 4 times on the one pill. 2 pills were had all up, the second had the same effect.

Swim has previously had pills hit him in 'sections' as such, but never so much of a defined transition between them. Also, the high remained consistent each time he came up, rather than losing a bit of its punch each time like usually happens with pills like this. The roll lasted much longer than usual (about 8 hours), but overall he thinks it was not as pleasurable as a 'solid' roll.

Obviously the binder[s] in these pills are different, in order to release the MDMA in such defined sections. Swim was wondering what this different chemical may be, or whether the pill simply contains an abnormal amount of a commonly used chemical binder.

This has happened to swim many times on some good pills. Sounds like a normal effect of MDMA to swim.

Yeah it could have been because SWIY was in an unstimulated environment as serotonin release is directly proportiante to external stimuli and so SWIY will feel more high when some good music comes on or WIY is doing something SWIY finds extremely enjoyable. If SWIY is sitting at home you are not really getting the most out of your roll.

Basically: If you are having a mostly boring roll and then start to feel high it could be because a good song or soemthing you enjoy happened. When this stops you come back down momentarily and when something else happens you go back up...

yeah i agree this has happened to swim about 3-4 times. he would question the quality of his mdma, but would then proceed to be blown away on a future occasion.

Swim has noticed that in the last couple of months. After swim has taken a pill or two and they have taken effect, he will be feeling great one minute and then all of a sudden he will come down and become aware of how high he is and almost sober (really ruining the ride). Then all of a sudden he will be back to peak and high again, this will happen occasionally but not all the time.


- Can anyone suggest as to why this is happening ?
- Does anyone experience this ?
- Swim has been told that this is just his body fighting the drug, is this true ?

This generally happens when one is starting to feel the effects and they become overpowering.

As the above states, best advice is to try not to think about how high SWIY is. Thinking will get SWIY nowhere, just feel, MDMA is all about feeling

Just concentrate on enjoying the music or the company as oppose to the actual feeling itself. The rest will follow.

I disagree. Swim often thinks about how high he is when rolling. This usually gives him an overwhelming feeling and picks him up even more.

On-topic: This is definitely normal. MDMA pills usually contain chemicals that release MDMA into the SERT over a long period of time, rather than the MDMA being able to stream in all at once. The feeling SWIY experiences is most probably due to no MDMA being released, as a result of a chemical binder preventing rather than prolonging release. However, if there is MDMA it has to be released eventually, which is why you come back up soon after.
