Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
Diphenhydramine will probaply still work the next day, when SWIY wakes up, leaving SWIY groggy. SWIY could give it a try though.

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
Swim had diazepam for his flight to Bangkok and on his way back he bought atarax both aren't sleeping pills but with a few drink they put swim to sleep. Swim had taken rohipnol the first time he went to Thailand and woke up 20 minutes before landing and feeling great! It was a 12 hour flight.

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
SWIM says in this order
Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol)... or if that isnt available for SWIY Alprazolam (Xanax) / Diazepam (Valium) / Zolpidem (Ambien) |

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
on long international flight swim usually asks a doctor for zolpidem, taking one on the flight on a lightly filled stomach, along with melatonin.
swim can usually get 6 hours sleep or so, and arrives as "refreshed" as one can be after a long time in a pressurized dry air environment. Very useful for having to jump into activity upon arrival, and helps shorten jetlag a little. |

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
Melatonin would likely leave SWIM feeling refreshed upon waking.

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
SWIM would not suggest Diphenhydramine (Benadryl/Unisom) if you are trying to avoid a slight tiredness feeling the next day.(Atleast at the dosage SWIM took it at, which is very much above the normal dosage) However, as far as OTC goes it is one of the best. Other drugs such as ambien would leave you feeling more refreshed but are harder to get.

Quote:
30mg of temazepam or 15mg of nitrazepam would be a good dose. |

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
SWIM reccomends Stugeron Travel sickness tablets available at any local chemist. SWIM took 4 tablets (60mg) cinnarazine and was very relaxed on a 4 hour coach journey and feeling great the next day

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
SWIY may want to try 2-3 350mg Carisoprodol (Soma) tablets...
Just a thought, since those may be easier to come across. SWIM knows they are muscle relaxers, but they do make one drowsy SWIM sometimes uses em' to go to bed when he has nothing else

Re: long coach journey: Best sleeper?
Swim finds diazepam to not work great at sedating him personally? Swims personal choice would be 3mgs melatonin 15 minutes before flight. He would take some of his klonazepam 30 minutes before, probably 30 minutes before flight and finally take either ambien or xanax either 1mg of alprazolam or 10mgs of ambien because they are soo fast acting! That is what swim does; not for flights but after a long nite of stimulants swim cannot get sleep until 5-7hrs after his usual crash out time. He will wake up at 4 or 5 PM and start taking his meds (which are RX'ed to swim) at 9 or 10 PM that night to get knocked out pretty goood!!!
![]() Swim has a high benzo and gabaergic reaction meds tolerance and has taken 3mgs melatonin every night for 4 or 5 years now! It is the only OTC sleeping med that swim actually gets a good rest on!!! It mostly just helps swims mind drift off to 'la-la land' and pass out alot quicker than usual...??? Swim thinks this is because of the short half-life which he THINKS is one hour? But yea to the OP swim would take a fairly long acting benzo or similar, melatonin and 1-1.5mgs alprazolam!!! Definately does the job for swim!!! And that IS saying something as swim has pulled 24 hours without sleep on 10-15mgs of xanax easily! Swim started sleep hygiene around the new year when swim was making his last effort at quitting oxycodone (4 year habit) which does HELP quite a bit! Swim always turns off television as in air/ cable not DVD's and movies he always watches a movie after a shower then smokes a bowl of ghanja somenights when he really wants to sleep hard. This gives swim a clean high making for deeper sleep without being all panicky which'd keep swim awake. Turn on night lamp and light up a marlboro menthol light 100, a hit of weed, then another cigg! OUT!!! Swim has had sleep issues since being a child! Especially with falling asleep because swim has racing thoughts. Swim got WAAY off track on this but he was feeling GOOD while writing this!!! He consumed a bowl of hydro AK47 after taking 30 mgs of adderall then took his other 15mg piece after the bowl of chronic. An hour later swim took 1mg of Klonopin, 1mg of xanax, 100mgs butalbital, and 750mgs soma (carisoprodol). Swim KNOWS this is alot but his tolerance with no stimulants he could still be able to walk to bed and has to lay down and TRY to go to sleep!!! Swim apologizes for the rambling but that is how he wrote it at the time and wants people to KNOW TAKE WAAAAYYYY LEESSSS WITH NO OR LOW TOLERANCE!!! orry for the rant but swim wantedc to put his input in there and the only thing he might change is an above poster said temazepam which swim has not got to try yet but would LOVE to try it soon!!! Have a great day and be safe all -bdb1- |
