Buying pods off the internet

SWIM did a search on the internet and found several companies that sell pods, they claim the pods are grown here in the US, but do not state the species (SWIM is guessing p. som.)?

30 extra-large pod heads are $xx, and 50 large heads (golf ball size) are the same price... and 75 regular heads are $xx bucks.

Assuming these are P. Som., suppose SWIM ground up all of the pods in a grinder and then added some cold water, warmed it up below 80 C, filtered and evaporated it down to flake?

How many "match head" sized balls of flake do you think $xx bucks of pods would yield?

Price discussion is actually not allowed so we will pretend not to have seen that part.
SWIM is assuming that the 30 extra large heads are of larger than gold ball size? If so then the 30 pods or so "could" yield as much as about 6 to 10gr at best. Depending on the subspecies it has come from and that it is really P.Somniferum then the reality of the yield can vary greatly. Just because a pod is bigger doesnt mean it will be more potent or contain more alkaloids. If one is to have a look at the direct correlation of yields in the breeders guide one will notice that as the latex yield goes up the alkaloid yields for Morphine and Codeine go down. One would be looking at total weight rather than pod size.

but know telling what species they are others cause a "high" but if it is p. som you will know it some companies even state they are. as for yeild it changes from stain to season to part of farm grown on. No way to tell what is in it so start small with one pod maybe in a glass of tea and work your way up after you get to know tea one can tell how strong it is by the taste of bitter. becareful one can od and get addictid

One would know if it was not the right "species" because little to no high would be produced.

Other species of poppy do not contain the right opiate alkaloids to give a person any real high. Flanders poppy (corn poppy or orientale) Contains Papaverine and a few other minor alkaloids but nothing of note and nothing that will get anyone "really" high. Papaverine has been used in herbal medicine as a VERY mild relaxant though.

All in all, it HAS to be Papaver Somniferum to contain any of the right (what are medically considered to be "active") alkaloids. In fact, so far SWIM has found Papaver Somniferum to be the only plant species to contain active opiate alkaloids. SWIM is still searching for any other plant species which may produce the right stuff though.

Swim has purchases things like this off the internet. Swim warns you. Swim never was really hooked on opiates. However, the amount of morphine and theabine swim was consuming must have been through the fucking roof. He got hooked very very very bad. Terrible WDs that had a seizure, and swim never had a seizure before. 7 days not sleeping, wanting nothing more to sleep or die. Its a different ball game when it comes to these because there legal and its easy to use everyday. So swim just wants to warn you. His tea and smoking O habit led to suboxone therapy. Which it took 32 mgs to get swim stable which is alot. At 16 mgs, swim was still convulsing. (this is alot for this therapy). Swim just really doesnt want another human being to have to go what he went through. It makes him sad

Thanks for the info... yes I do realize how addicting that O can be because of the M. As far as my wallet going through the roof, that aint gonna happen, the wife controls all of SWIMS money... hahahaha.... SWIM might be inclined to drop a few "Jacksons" on a box of pods, but that's his "allowance".

SWIM was just thinking of experimenting with heated water/evaporation technique until spring planting and summer harvest occurs.

Seems plenty of SWIY's here on the board seem to tolerate "recreational" use of O and keep it at just that.... SWIM has had a habit of 3-4 Hydros (at once) per day for chronic back problems, but recently gave them up for concern over liver problems and just deals with the pain now... SWIM had very mild if at all WD's, a couple of beers and sleeping pill at night has helped greatly though for sleep, fortunately no sweats/chills/aches, etc... SWIM thinks he can handle 2 or 3 times a month use is possible.

Just mentioning that Thebaine on its own is not an active alkaloid. It needs to be converted into Oxycodone or Hydrocodone through synthesis.

Yea, it does that ye ole' pod tea etc . . LOL.

The Thebaine by itself though considered to be a "non-active" alkaloid has been reported as "may be synergistically involved with other alkaloids during interaction in the human body" Therefor One "may" be right in assuming that the Thebaine was doing something. [NOTE: this was new information found by SWIM but is not conclusive, the basis of it says that Thebaine "may" be converted into Morphine in small amounts in the human body in a similar way to codeine. SWIM will research this more to find out if its crap or not. HEH].

Any sickness etc (upset stomach etc) one may have experiences probably came from the Narcotine and Papaverine alkaloids also present in Opium (they commonly cause stomach problems and are also non-active alkaloids).

SWIyou are right, SWIM said it was just something he read and would look into it further. In a particular study it was suggested that a small amount of Thebaine may be converted into a morphine model in a similar way to codeine (I.E: by the liver) and thus considered to be a prodrug for it (in a way).

This has however proven not to be true.
