The heaviest dose I've seen on a trip report is 24 grams. Can you go higher? What's the highest recommended dose that won't put me in the hospital?

To answer your question, 110 mg/kg is considered a lethal intramuscular dose (LD50). Assuming the best (worst), that someone who isn't you will ingest DMT through mimosa as efficiently as an intramuscular injection, then do a simple calculation to determine how this effects them. Mimosa potency ranges from .35% to 1% total dry weight of bark. Average this at .65% DMT per dry weight. For every gram of bark, 6.5mg are present. A 175 pound man would require approximately 8,731.65 mg to overdose on DMT. Assuming a perfect extraction and ingestion take place, about 2.9 pounds of mimosa would have to be ingested to incur a lethal dose. The obvious bottom line here is that the amount required for ingestion of a lethal DMT dose would be nearly impossible through mimosa consumption. The cognitive impact of an experience anywhere near this would be exceptionally powerful, and surely result in less of a desire to overindulge in such a powerful and sacred substance as DMT. To really answer your question, which hospital is your friend trying to avoid? To avoid a trip to the emergency room, stay below a few pounds or so of mimosa. To avoid a trip deep within the realms of the personal human psyche resulting in possibly eye-opening experiences, and consequently a trip to a hospital where they keep people who have experience such things, a dose of below 24 grams should be plenty sufficient. As the usual response goes: less is more.

Make sure the bark is completely covered (submerged) in h2o, add the juice of 2 lemons or so, boil and strain. For cold water, use slightly less volume h2o.
