Fractals/Spirals during CEVs

What do you think is the reason my machine elves friends and my machine elf see these fractal-like, spiraling images when they close their eyes? Usually when they close their eyes all of the CEVs are memory related, meaning they can change and morph it into whatever is wished. However, sometimes, especially with DMT, they see these geometric patterns that they know they haven't thought up before. What is the significance of these fractals and why do you think they see them?

I'm sure you're magical elf friends have heard the (variation of the) expression, "We see what we want to see. We project what we want to see."
Well the dark void of geometric shapes (fractals - mathematics) could be the separation of the soul and body, and without the soul or consciousness, the body can only see this void and the universal wonder of mathematics that surrounds us.
If the machine elves have no recollection of ever seeing these shapes, then what else could be making them? Maybe the machine elves buddies have been looking at these fractals and mathematics their entire lives (because of the mathematics that create our beloved universe), but are now looking at them in a new way with the assistance of said substance.

These fractals/spirals have a long history with altered states of consciousness. The designs, known as entoptic phenomena (Richards (1971), Siegel (1977)), have shown up in both paleolithic and megalithic (neolithic) as indicators of intentionally induced altered states. The spirals/fractals commonly have great symmetry as well as a clear focal point, and commonly parallel lines, or many lines deriving from the same source. The phenomena however are just that, and in the nature of phenomena, are never quite the same. DMT has produced some of the most consistent and replicable entoptic phenomena, specifically spiral lines, veins, and a jungle like protrusion of mass into space. The term, originally coined by C.W. Tyler, refers to images derived from within the eye and mind, as opposed to the medical term referring to light reflections within the eye creating patterns and "objects".
