SWIM and friends have on many many occasions combined the two, serious amounts of each, but suffered no (known) complications over the last 3-4 years. But this doesn't mean it is safe by any means, so SWIM recommends that you avoid it if you can, or start small if you wish to try.

swim says avoid coke completely .. nah, but seriously alcohol+coke = deathwish 50/50 .. When swim used to do blow he would sometimes have Heineken or two and that was it - no hard shit.

I disagree with that, almost everyone SWIM knows who uses coke does so whilst drinking and none of them have had any (known) problems. I agree it is more toxic combined that each alone, but I find it rather hypocritical for those moaning about health implications from the combination because they fuck with their health using the drug(s) anyway.

Regardless, I would not describe it as a 50/50 death wish, I think that is a very bold statement to make.

Cocaetyhlene also stays in your system alot longer, and some drug screens actually test for it. 20-30 days. SWIM can't do blow without alcohol, not without feeling like a paranoid, gittery, sweating, mess... swim usually drinks a 6pack and smokes some buds on top of a gram of street grade shit. SWIM gets an almost dope-like euphoria from it.

SWIM thanks SWIY for the advice. SWIM tried this yesterday, mixed a g of good blow with a 26er of vodka and it was bomb. SWIM would definately do this again, and reccomends mixing the two to anyone.

drinking alcohol does help with the comedown, due to the depressant effects of alcohol but it's also very hard on the body, as the cocaethylene formed is much more toxic than cocaine or alcohol on their own, and this is especially tough on the liver.

SWIM usually uses some alcohol with her cola to take the 'edge' off...with a small amount of drink she feels that the cola experience is enhanced. Also if SWIM is is at the pub drinking she often feels an urge to fiend as drinking and coke seem to go hand in hand over here of late. However its easy to drink just that little bit too much and SWIM has sometimes run out of her stuff only to find she is utterly hammered! When this happens SWIM says the combination of hangover/comedown the next day is hellish.

Ok, SWIM's heard a lot and read about this cocoethylene issue. (mixing cocaine and alcohol). SWIM's question concerns the amount of alcohol discussed in the threads. Does the amount of alcohol consumption matter - i.e. a few beers compared to doing shots of tequila - shouldn't the amount and type of alcohol make a difference?

SWIM & friends have consumed both cocaine and alcohol together many times with no ill effects (granted there weren't large amounts of alcohol consumed - Miller Lites over many hours) - is this why?

SWIM would like if threads on this topic could quantify the type and quantity of the combination of cocaine and alcohol when discussing this issue.

cocaethylene is formed when cocaine is in the bloodstream and so is cocaine.
toxicity increases with both factors, but in most cases it's the alcohol concentration, ie the more alcohol one gets in the system the more has to processed by the body.
it's not that cocaethylene is a monster lurking in the shadows, it's just that the combination increases toxicity, cardiovascular related risks, liver strain.
it is of course related to how much / what one drinks, ie how much alcohol enters the blood stream in a short time time, and how much cocaine is present as well.

Swim is a recreational user of Coke and only finds it enjoyable after a few drinks. She has tried Coke a few times without consuming alcohol and found it disgusting- she said she could taste the coke at the back of her throat and it was a high filled with anxiety, slight paranoia and a general unsettled feeling. She said she only even thinks about Coke after a couple of beers/ drinks. Because she drinks & parties every weekend her coke usage went hand in hand still only using about .25g-.5g a weekend. Swim's bf suggested that maybe they start cutting out the coke every weekend and slow down on the partying. For the last 2 weekends she hasn't used any coke but still drank heavily and went to the bars. Swim said that usually when shes drunk a few lines would help keep her leveled and more sober and less biligerent. In the absence of a few lines swim said that she felt much more inebriated and became more emotional, hostile and temperamental. Swim said that even though she didn't crave coke it seemed as if her body was just so used to the combination that she was acting out of a drunken automatism. Needless to say she said she doesn't remember bits and pieces of her night although she was with her bf and safe but still felt that she was much more intoxicated than usual because she did not use any coke that night. Swim wanted to know if this has happened to other people?

swim usually does coke with friends just before they go for night out on beer. swim finds it leads to a better social night. also when swim uses coke on night out, he usually to much paranoid to feel the high.
