Question Dihydrocodeine tartrate how effective is it compared to other opioids.

ok so swim has had back pain for 6 years, blah blah...
had many appointments at chyropractors, rumatologists, pain managment specialists...
been on everything all the way from paracetamol>codeine to currntly Dihydrocodeine tartrate.

its not working, swim has to take 3-4 30mg tablets to get releif.
swim has just started seeing a new doctor as she has moved, the first thing he said when swim showed him her bottle of Dihydrocodeine tartrate was hmm these are abit strong for someone your age. we will have to look into those.

i.e im gonna take you off these as soon as i possibly can.

the point is swims back has steadily been getting worse, swims legs hurt alot of the time, swim thinks it could be sciatica.
swims joints hurt aswell expecially in her fingers, swim suggested once that maybe it could be arthritus because thats what it feels like.. she was laughed out of the doctors, aparently a 20 year old cant have arthritus.

but swim is basically at a point were she dosnt know what to say or do.
she has to be carfull what she says, if she says she wants stronger painkillers she will be taken for an addict, if she says it hurts all the time she just gets sent to a rumatologist, and then told no because she might get addicted.
how can swim tell her doctor to stop worrying about the risk of addiction and tollorence and just give her somthing.
why do we need to be dying to get anything strong.

swim thinks somthing stronger would help, ideally somthing strong enough were she can take 1 pill and it will help, instead of basically overdosing.

swim is from the uk, swim thinks somthing like vicodin would be perfect, but we dont have that here and if we do you have to be dying to get it.

please help.
swim wants to say the right things to swims new doctor.

Fairly big body buzz, not much of anything else. I used to do a lot of it, but im not too sure about its effectiveness at treating pain. However, it's prescribed a lot for broken legs etc so it must be pretty good

Re: Dihydrocodeine tartrate how effective is it compared to other opioids.

Swim is heading in a similer direction he had co codamol 30-500 and is now on tramadol. When his back is bad he takes 6 sometimes. he sometimes get dihydrocodeine 30mg from.... And that seems to help! But he doesn't want the Doctor to think he is abusing (he has been adicted to heroine, meth. etc. in the past and thinks his Docter might know from a previous surgery) Any tips would be welcome.

Swim thinks swiy should get a other Doctor and if he/she doesn,t do anything then phone emergancy Doctor or go to hospital. If that doesn't work maybe make a complaint ? Tell them swiy feels insulted by the first Doctor and is seeking advice from his advocate ? If swiy needs to, Get the letter writing by someone else .Good luck and please let swim know how its getting on.

Native language not English sorry for spelling ang grammar.

SWIM went to secondary school with a girl who had arthritis, and medical notes to prove the fact to teachers she was around 14 when SWIM was first aware of her condition. It seems many doctors like to dismiss rare possibilities without further investigation, on the basis that its unlikely, Hope SWIY finds a good diagnosis followed by suitable help
