vomiting blood after GBL??

SWIM has been taking GBL for a month now, only for sleeping purposes.
When he began testing his dosage, 0.8ml did almost nothing and 1.2ml made him feel a little uncomfortable, so he decided to dose 3ml in three doses with a 30 minute interval, thus consuming the beverage over one hour.
This gave SWIM a feeling he hasn't felt in YEARS, watchin' tv through one eye, battling sleep until it's no longer possible aaaaah what a great, refreshing sleep SWIM had..

Now a month later the dosage has changed to 3-3,5 ml in 20-30 minute interval to get the same feeling, that wasn't a problem for SWIM untill yesterday..

SWIM stopped smoking cannabis after smoking 2 grams a day for about seven years, pretty hard and I have a lot of side-effects..
He was very happy for meeting the GBL a little earlier, because he had been an insomniac since his short amphetamine use, 6 years ago.
He knew he would feel bad during the day because he stopped smoking mj, but knowing that he wouldn't have problems sleeping at night really meant A LOT to him. The first day wasn't very nice, even though SWIM was at home the whole day. He started to feel very nervous without any obvious reason he was spinnin' some records when it hit him and it took more than an hour to fade away. This feeling was not nice at all and SWIM decided he might need some help if willing to succeed in this, so yesterday SWIM decided to visit the doctor..

He was sitting in the doctors waiting room when the feeling creeped upon him again. He felt extreme nervousness, just didn't know how to behave, it felt like everybody was watching him and he just couldn't sit still.
He went home without the needed visit and decided to come back on G, a small dose.. Trying it again in the same state was not an option.
He came home and since it already was 7PM he decided to take 1ml to get rid off the annoying feeling, and it worked. I decided to go to sleep early and took another 1.5 ml at 8pm and 0.8 at 9 pm. It didn't work as usual so SWIM took another 3ml between 10&12pm, normally he doesn't double dose without sleeping in between, but that day sucked and I guess he just thought 'what the hell..". He went to sleep and awaked at 6am, earlier than normal, he decided that was too early and drank another 3 mls in the next half hour, but right after the second dose he got sick and had to puke (looked very strange, all soda with gelatine like pieces is it, never seen that before). He figured it was because of the 3 litres of soda he had consumed to chase the gbl that was already diluted (still tastes too nasty), and consumed another 1.5ml because he thought the other one went right back out, and he got some more sleep at 7pm , that's when the crazy shit happened..

He woke up with a decent amount of puke next to him with a towel laying next to it at 9am (instantly thinking how dangerous the puke was), but he had just enough time to struggle to the bathroom and vomited, he got a little out but almost instantaneoulsly fell asleep above the toilet! He crawled up to the sink to splash some water in his face and wondered why he felt so damn weird! best way to describe is like extreme dizziness of the worst kind, I enjoy lying drunk in bed so it feels the room is spinning around, but this was a hundred times nastier, almost like something was wrong with gravity. He immediatly had to puke again and when he did he saw somehing in the toilet that scared the **** out of him! It was all blood diluted with the rest of the soda SWIM guessed, but still a nice mouth-full! SWIM thought he was going to die, really..

He thought about calling a doctor or an ambulance, but was kinda scared that he wouldn't be able to stay awake long enough, so he called his mother(!) did the WHOLE story, about quitting mj, ordering the gbl after reading lots about it, and they agreed on waiting another hour to see if he still felt the same before calling in for help.

SWIM went downstairs and layed himself on his sofa, accompognied by his dog to try and relax, slowly the feeling faded away and he knew it was just the gbl and he probably took too much and woke up too early. Still had to throw up a couple of times until my stomach was empty, the last thing was some brown, nasty smelling, thick paste.

Nevertheless, the blood scared him very badly en he will never do it again, nor ghb, although he knows he won't have it with ghb and the recipes may sound simple for most folks out here, they are not fool proof at all.

The thing is, he HAS to take the doctor visit and starts work on monday, and he HASN'T got the sleeping aid he got before..

So SWIM's question is:

Is there a safe, non-addictive, long-acting, preferrably non-benzo?

when SWIM got back to his room en saw his desktop computer, he remembered seeing it earlier that day, it came back to SWIMS mind that he was awake when vomiting (the puke he found laying next to him), and tried to clean it up but was unable to stand on his legs, too heavily sedated..

Strange that he didn't remember it when waking up, it's like when you've been really drunk and had black-outs that come back later..

To be honest, when thinking about it, he remembers a couple times getting waked very aggresively by his cell phone vibrant alert, something that does not happen when he is really asleep.. It makes SWIM think that he was in a state that resembled sleep but still being very 'awake', I know it sounds weird

It doesn't sound strange at all, in fact it all sounds pretty much par for the course as far as inappropriate use of GBL goes.

Firstly, please don't tell me that SWIY did his reading on this forum before deciding to use GBL regularly, because I sure as hell have posted in enough threads to try and get people to understand why GBL should not be used recreationally.

Secondly, no there is *no* excuse to claim that doing the conversion is too complicated. Mix two substances together, heat it. How much easier does it need to get?

Look, you said it yourself, SWIY was too heavily sedated and he got up to all sorts of messy nonsense before he was fully conscious.

SWIY's dosing regime was too heavy for starters, GBL is converted in-vivo (inside the body) so any excess dose will still be being converted to GHB long after the user has passed out whether they intended to take that much or not.

GBL is a mucous membrane irritant so the repeated dosing after the vomiting would have messed with his throat and his stomach. That blood could have come from either place.

It is fortunate that SWIY didn't suffer anything more serious to be honest, vomiting while unconscious is a time honoured way for rockstars to join the great gig in the sky.

The facts are this:

1. This is just another fine example of why people should not abuse GBL
2. SWIY's body is unlikely to have been harmed in the long term by this event, however, he is lucky that he didn't harm himself whilst heavily sedated and mobile!
3. Had SWIY done the conversion to GHB he would not have had such a hard time pinning his dosing regime down and is unlikely to have ended up vomiting as GHB is pH neutral and *not* a mucous membrane irritant
4. GHB is *proven* to be safe, whilst GBL has been reported to be, surprisingly, non-toxic there is nothing like the amount of research that there is for GHB

Anyhoo, lesson learnt, hopefully!

Maybe SWIY can revisit G when he's got a better understanding of it but until then he should stick to whatever the doc recommends.

well swim had to puke 10 minutes later too and all the blood was gone, this makes him think it was just present in his stomach (how it got there dunno) but he didn't see blood afterwards, so he felt quite safe
