OK SWIM tried codiene a few weeks ago, in form of 30/500 tablets, not SWIM understands the paracetamol limit how much you can do, so SWIM dosed at 3 the first time and 4 the second. SWIM's friend also dosed at 3. SWIM notes the standard dosage for proper use is 2.

Now SWIM knows the LD50 for paracetamol is about 3-4g, or at least, according to SWIM's chemistry studying friends, is when it gets dangerous. Which is 6-8 paracetamol 500mg tablets.

Now, SWIM has 3, and the high was good, a little subtle, but generally good. SWIM got pretty hot which was the first downside.

The second downside was SWIM had pretty bad stomach cramps, moreso on 4, which makes SWIM thinks that it was the paracetamol perhaps? But then SWIM also has read opiates cause constipation
... could it be something to do with that.

SWIM found lying down for about half an hour passed the feeling, but he would prefer not to have it.

SWIM's friend really freaked out on 3, when his stomach cramps kicked in he thought he was going to die, even rang up NHS direct.

SWIM did the 4 the following day and the stomach cramps were a tiny bit more intense, but not exceptionally.....


SO do these come part and parcel with opiate use, or is it the parecetamol.

SWIM has got about 15 more tables, and so may do the CWE but doesn't want to waste much, so is weary (SWIM tried doing it on 10 pills and just did it all for too little time and was only left with a millimetre's worth of water in the glass.

Though opiates do cause constipation, SWIY's stomach pains are more likely the result of consumption of dangerous amounts of paracetamol, which, unfortunately, should always be removed by CWE before dosing with pills such as these which contain large amounts in order to avoid unwanted side effects like stomach bleeding, liver failure, and death.

I mean..what's the big deal about this?Just perform a good ol' CWE and you'll do just fine.Besides..ain't it what they all do and talk about on here?

I'm a CWE fanatic! Coz I have a friend called SWIM who almost knackered his liver thru laziness and reluctance to perform a CWE.

They're as easy as hell, so it's always better to do it.

With regards to the pain, if SWIY's stomach pain doesn't go away within a few days, GO TO A DOCTOR. Even if it is just constipation (which isn't hugely likely on the dose SWIY described) then that can build up and actually get very very dangerous.

Just be careful in future and SWIY will be fine, probably.

Hmm, SWIM took 3 the other night, without the CWE and didn't experience the cramps, neither did his friends, so it must have been a one off. SWIM is realising the limitaiton of just 90mg of codiene though and so is going to do the CWE on the remainder of his 15 500/30's so that he can get a better dosage.
