Salvia Divinorum becoming illegal?

While I knew that states were trying to make the drug schedule 1, there appears to be some movement. An internet site my friend swim uses is having a blow out sale because it says salvia is becoming illegal in january 2008. WTF is going on? I hate fucking stupid people. They think all these drugs are bad. If salvia becomes schedule 1 then research on it will become stagnant. Its effect is so interesting because it is a very potent Kappa opiate receptor agonist. Kappa opiate receptor agonization is shown to help people with bipolar disorder. So understanding the pharmacology and effect of it would be a great service to america. However most people are retarded. Neuroscientists, some psychologists, and those who use drugs and didnt "die and go crazy and become totally addicted and ruin their life by becoming homeless and getting schizophrenia" are the only people with common sense. Other people just are ill informed. There has to be a change. Things are getting out of hand with shit. Some of the reasons people dont want it legal any more is "I dont want someone having an out of body experience driving next to me" yeah im sure that guy knew it lasted 5 minutes due to its quick effect and metabolization. Im sure he doesnt know what a metabolization or half life is.

Back to the task on hand, anyone know anything about this? People are very ill informed. I mean there are people that want kava illegal. Thats crazy.

it is, swia can see this then happening in europe and other places as well. these people as you say are ignorant and see it jus as another high for mindless youths to abuse, some of the blame could go for the way salvia is sold. with labels like "gets you high" aimed towards younger generations.

Salvia in swia's opinion has never been a drug to get high on, more as tool to meditate with and self-exploration.
