cannabinoid cp55940 and drug screens
A coworker of mine may be able to obtain some cp55940, but he is worried about failing a random drug screen at work. Does anybody know if this substance will trigger a positive result for cannabinoids?
My reasoning is: 1. Most drug Screens test for THC-COOH, would cp55940 trigger a positive result for this metabolite? 2. Even if it does cause a positive result, would the concentration of cp55940 be high enough, given it's high potency, to cause a failure on a standard 50ng/ml cutoff level for cannabinoid metabolites? My math behind reason number two is: assume 7.5% THC in marijuana, and 100% efficiency in smoking it (basically impossible). Say an average person smokes 1 bowl, or about 250mg, to get high. 250mg * 7.5% = 18.75mg pure THC Assume that this amount of THC causes a failure on a UA, with a concentration of 150ng/ml (probably way too high for the amount consumed). Also assume that a rather high dosage of cp55940 is vaporized at 100% efficiency (improbable): 4mg pure cp55940 18.75mg THC / 150ng/ml = 4mg cp55940 / "x" ng/ml cross multiply to obtain 18.75mg * "x" ng/ml = 600ng/ml * mg divide both sides by 18.75mg to obtain "x" "x" = 32ng/ml cp55940 metabolites So, it would still be below the normal cutoff for cannabinoid metabolites. This does not take into account how quickly the body metabolizes THC vs. CP55940. Either way, she is going to have a clean person test out the substance before she consumes any. Just thought some of you may find this interesting, or maybe can correct me or give more info. |
