How addictive is Meth?

Can you get addicted first time you take it?? is it more addictive depending on the intake of the drug (snorting vs injection vs oral)?
Thanks

Re: How addictive is Meth?

It really just depends. Some people prefer a certain way of taking the drug, SWIM started out a smoker and is still one. That being said, SWIM will go a long time without wanting anymore, but there was a time when SWIM CONSTANTLY wanted some. It was when SWIM relized that his addiction had actually became an addiction that he quit for a long time. Today Swim can do a little and be okay, but who knows if that will change.

Re: How addictive is Meth?

Do it and I give you a 5% chance of ever being free of it for the rest of your life.

In my twenty years experience, you can pretty much kiss the hope of ever having a normal life again if you do it one time and become addicted. I was hooked my first line.

I bet the Lord cries about meth addicts- the hardest people to help on earth.

Just doing a little once in a while- it's easy to do that until your city is flooded w/ pure shit of yesteryears quality. Then try doing just a little.

(If you figure out how, post it for SWIM, pretty please?)

Any way you take it you're going to feel the effects, positive and negative, on your body, mind and life. Myself and many others will tell you that injection will take you down quickest. Yet overdose is possible puffing a bubble if you puff too much- SWIM had grand mals (seizures) from some Mexican shit years back, woke up in the paramedics arms. I mentioned that because some people think they are "safer" if they don't slam- less chance of overdose. NOT. Not in SWIM's case anyway.

It breaks my heart when these kids come on here asking about meth and I know most likely they're gonna do it...I wish I could show them a movie of the sickness, depravity, everything horrible I have seen, done, lost, the waste of life, the big and little things that you throw out the window for a bag, the baby I aborted because I was hooked on the needle- Not to mention the family's heartbreak and the stress it causes them, the money it costs, the loss of jobs, friends, morals. When you're smart enough to know those things, you'll be looking back and half your life is gone. The other stretches before you and you have no-limited education, job skills, or savings...but you got a f-ing blast stashed. Well, if all you want to have of value in twenty years in your pocket is a bag of dope, by all means, indulge. It will be the dumbest mistake you ever made.

SWIM was considered the school brain in grade school and middle school. Straight as heck. Everyone swore SWIM would make it big as a lawyer.
Well- all SWIMS ever seen of a courtroom was while in cuffs and shackels. Get it yet?

Don't just blame meth. The only drug I won't put in the above catagory is weed.

complete tosh,

Apologies for sounding argumentative in first post here - but have been on other chem/meth forums for years.....

It is not physiologically addictive at all.... but addiction is a much over used and misunderstood term.

There are people that can use meth and not have a problem, maintain a normal life and function. Just as there are people that can use alcohol and not have a problem.

However, the flipside is (just as with alcohol) there are some people that grow to like it and its effects too much. If you are one of those people then it is possible that you will fuck up your life if you tangle with meth.

But if swiy, like my friend BT was when he used it, are one of those people that can use it and practice moderation then it can be a useful and fun substance.

Dont believe all the hyperbole in the media and from the 'moral majority' and the "Faces of Meth" stories about how it will leave a wrinkled shell.. The people in those horror stories didn't use it, they abused it. There is a difference.

if one eats (difficult, but not impossible), takes vitamins, rests on a regular schedule (even if full sleep is not going to happen), cleans teeth (& uses a mouthwash) if smoking it etc.... A lot of it is basic common sense.

Caution however should be practiced, in BT's opinion, with IVing it. he never did that - and is thankful. he had friends - two close friends (of sorts) that maintained fine and normal lives when smoking it, even on a fairly regualr basis. But once they started IVing that changed - their lives went to hell in a hand cart. One has not yet 'made it back' to the real world, and while the other has it took 2 long hard years.
