Smoking - do crack fumes smell?

do crack fumes smell? what do they smell like?

If crack is lighted correctly, the white smoke will vaporize quickly. It shouldn't smell and will disappear.

If crack is over-heated and burned, it will turn oily and smell really bad. Really bad!

The smell is extraordinarily distinct and pervasive - I'd recognise it anywhere.

it has a distinct smell in fact swim just bought a half gram of powder and cooked it up. swim bought this at about 1:00 and was smoking by 1:10. swim smoked till about 2:30. the smell goes away very quickly. like in a minute after each toke. three is no smell in swims house now.

SWIM would have to agree that it smells like burning plastic. It's not too pervasive though, and stays relatively contained (unlike ether, for instance).

This thread began as informative, but I realize it can be very opinionated.

I will re-phrase my opinion:

It all depends on how crack is smoked will there be any "telltale" smell.

If it is smoked totally screwed up, the smoke alarm will go off.

If it smoked correctly, there is a slight smell, but it will vaporize in a minute or so.

Of course, that depends on

• The number of participates
• The length of time
• The size of the room
• Whether or not a window is open
• If an air conditioner is on

SWIM has always found crack to smell very sweet. Amost sweeter than sugar tastes. SWIM doesn't smoke it (But has and may again.) And the only thing that has ever drawn him to it is the smell and taste. Then again he also finds it tastes better on ash than brillo so that could explain the whole "No smell when burned properly" thing.

second that. Swim only does yeyo no base but swims buddy's older brother does smoke bas sometimes and smells like a blowtorch bring a piece of PVC pipe. On the other hand, swim went with old friend who is BIG TIME base head so swim could grab some good quality "soft" from the crack dealer. Crackhead friend smoked rock in swims car and swim couldnt smell anything sitting right next to him....
