DMT with benzos

SWIM was wondering if it would be allright to combine a benzodiazapine like alprazolam (xanax), or diazepam (valium) to keep from freaking out while doing dmt.

SWIM said he would only take about 2mg of xanax or 10-20 mg valium 30 minutes before the smoking begins. Swim's theory is that it would eliminate the anxiety and make the trip much more enjoyable. Swim is experienced in other trip type drugs, like lsd and shrooms but it has been awhile since swim has done these (like 2 years). Obviously this is swim's first time doing dmt, and he had tried taking 2mg of xanax prior to taking lsd one time and had the most amazing trip of his life. But he wondered if there is some sort of health risk or whatever anyone thinks...?

Re: DMT with benzos

I doubt if swiy will even feel the benzos in DMT space.

Re: DMT with benzos

I don't think he even wants to FEEL the benzos i think he wants to find out of they will relieve any anxiety that the dmt might bring on.

SWIM is only adding his 2 cents because he is interested in the answer to this question also.

Re: DMT with benzos

The best analogy I've heard is LSD being described as a "long, strange journey" and DMT as "being shot out of a cannon." With LSD, mushrooms or other long-lasting psychedelics anxiety becomes relevant as you have the time to build up your thoughts.

DMT is so altering and so powerful that in swim's opinion normal human emotions don't even come into play. On a strong DMT trip swim doesn't even feel like a human being. Swim doubts anxiety will even be an issue as there is no time for anxiety to build up during the trip. A bad acid trip might go down like "Well my girlfriend left me, what if my parents or family leaves me. Wait what if I end up alone in the future. How do I know if I can ever trust anyone."

A bad DMT trip will go down like "Ahhh, if I close my eyes giant gnomes with teeth are attacking me, and if I open my eyes the guy in the poster will jump out and start attacking me!" Getting rid of anxiety won't remove the possibility of a bad DMT trip, because its not something that comes out of a long process it will either be there or it won't.

Swim says not to worry about bad DMT trips, unlike LSD they seem unable to produce long-term problems. Swim has seen some people have horraciously described trips, but were laughing about them 10 minutes later.

Swim has found through experience that just as in dreams, a few seconds in real-time can expand into days of experience. The theater tricks of conscious interpretation, like scene changes by blinking, can extend a few powerful visions into scene after scene of horror and discomfort.

For every swimmer laughing 10 minutes after a bad-trip, swim has seen another huddled in their chair, glassed eyed and slack-jawed, never to return to their chemical-relationship again.

Swim would recommend dosing with a benzodiazapine 45 minutes or so before the experience, to relieve anxiety going into the session. Remember the importance of set and setting, which includes the mental state of swiy. apprehension and anxiety prior to the experience reliably manifest themselves within the trip, so a dose of benzos or a meditation session prior to the experience may be the best vaccination for a bad-trip.

As for a health risk, there is minor tachycardia (increased heart rate) associated with DMT inhalation. The combination of this and a benzo dose above 1mg or so, could put unnescesary strain on the cardiovascular system, not to mention the adrenaline rushes of 'hyperspace' and their impact on the heart. Chemically and neurologically there should be little to no interaction. The DMT experience might be slightly diminished as neural firing is slowed by GABA stimulation however, but this does not mean 'dose higher!', it means be careful, and be patient.

Re: DMT with benzos

If SWIY wants to keep from freaking out, he/she should start with a low dose and then work up from that. The less one takes, the less tripy the trip. Usually, those who compare DMT to being fired from a cannon are either smoking it or they are taking a high oral dose with MAOI.

100-200mg intramuscular injection or supository should be more like LSD. More then that, then it will blow your mind beyond what LSD ever could.

DMT does similar things to the brain as LSD, but it does other things that put you in the visionary state at higher doses.

Contrary to what the United States of Sham Democracy will tell you, many people who are drug uses and creators are highly successful people who are more then willing to offer their expert advice. This is a place that promotes freedom from Government oppression. Part of what that means is giving people good and HONEST advice about drugs and how to go about your business with minimal intrusion from Big Brother.

Fuck the Constitution Shredding Government, and give freedom to all. Sadly, to many people are far to fat, dumb and happy to realize how important their freedoms are. This has reduced human beings to the life of dairy cattle. They keep us lazy and then they milk us of every drop of our money and our souls.
