Drug info - White crystalline caffeine powder

Swim is looking too get some white crystalline caffeine powder but is wondering if it's common in typical stores? And if there are any average chain-commercial stores in the U.S that do/ or might carry it?

Pure caffeine is not sold commercially.

ya...caffeine pills are the best bet....although I have probably seen 6 bottles of the stuff in bio and chem labs during schooling, so I don't think would be too difficult to get ahold of.

Products such as Vivarin (200 mg caffeine anhydrous per caplet) are available in any pharmacy/grocery store (in the US). They are cheap and ideal for personal use. In any case, I would prefer caffeine pills to pure powder.

SWIM found it at an online head shop rated at 99.8% pure, it was a white powder, but tastes absolutly disgusting and can easily be over done to leave SWIM feeling ill jittery and just that he wants to sleep but cant... SWIM always ends up with a very clean kitchen after using it though lol.
SWIM has always found it difficult to use caffine to keep him awake without going to the stage where he is concious but unable to think in a productive manner

question for the chemistry majors:

Would there be a way to poteniate caffeine, to get more of a stimulating euphoric feel ?

As far as my cat knows nothing really potentiates caffeine. But caffeine does seem to potentiate other things. He has never really found there to be a euphoria from only caffeine.. but can definitely be felt in certain energy drinks, which is mainly because of the herbs they contain.

From what I remember I think caffeine is metabolized by the CYP450 enzymes, so figuring out which ones it is metabolized by and what inhibits those enzymes should potentiate it, but it probably wouldn't do anything special, it'd just be the same as taking more caffeine, which usually isn't that great.
