Well, I've tried a lot of drugs, and not many have been especially life altering. The only two that I would say have changed me would be mushrooms and ecstacy, both in positive ways.

Mushrooms at times are just fun and other times have lead me to realize some amazing things about myself and the universe. Interestingly, the only two "bad" trips I've ever had have really taught me the most about myself and my innermost fears and how to deal with them. Very useful really.

Ecstacy because I had a REALLY great group of friends and we always were in the right environment when we rolled. I mean, spiritual bonding experiences mixed with REALLY universal love and some interesting psychic/meditation exercises.

Whew, good stuff, REALLY good stuff.

Re: What drug changed your life the most?

for SWIM, the drug that has changed his life the most is heroin....all the bullshit and chaos that goes with a heroin addiction has definitely changed SWIM's life

have to be ecstacy (then good qualitiy buds).the first time i took it was a pure white coloured mitsibushi ones, and i have not had a trip anywhere as near to that since and i doubt i ever will again.when i first took E i had a very spiritual experience what can best be described as communicating with god or whoever 'god' is, it was very moving and it had a profound effect on my whole life,, i dont think i ever really enjoyed doing fags&booze again after that experinece itmade me relize how trivial things like that really are,and it opened my eyes and spirt to a new way of thinking free from hypocrisy and deceit.if only thegovernments would relize how arrogant they have become in there zero tolerance regime,by treating addicts like criminals shocking Edited by: dr ACE

If swim is able to read...

The Carlos Castaneda series is/was as life changing thing for swim. It led swim to greater ponds of the mind. Datura did too.

probably steroids...

i'vehad short 'obsessions' with many recreational substances but in the end, steroids somehow kept me grounded... it encouraged me to give up smoking, eat right, and exercise, all in the name of performing at my best...

testosterone is not an addictive chemical but when you're not on it, you miss the little things likecomments on how much healthier you look, getting no-reason-boners and generally being ridiculously horny all the time... you just feel a bit more young and alive (even though i'm only in my 20s)

i would recommend anadrol as a distraction to help anyone trying to curb an addiction... but make sure you know what you're doing first, and always have the ancillary drugs on hand for preventing side-effectsEdited by: glomp

I mean its called ecstasy. What can be better than that? The first time you do it, your life is changed. I realized my universal love for life andheightened levels of love for friends and family. It just made me a more compassionate and forgiving person.

for me.. i would say extacy...it gave me that profound philosophical
reason to enjoy everyday life... i finally understood the impact of
human relationship in everyday life... i now have a better
understanding of living.. because all we know is life and we can do
anything while living... but we do not know death and we do not know
what our soul can do when we die.

Ecstasy has always been far inferior to traditional psychedelics (LSD,
mushrooms) in my opinion. I've sampled pure MDMA a few times and I find
that it's too pushy. What I mean by this is that I find that it forces
me to be happy, forces me to like people, etc. but it feels very
artificial. With LSD, my drug of choice, the drug doesn't MAKE me feel
pleasant...I just have vast insights and become a bit more
"enlightened."

LSD has changed me the most and marijuana has changed me second most. I
can't smoke pot anymore because it just makes me groggy and puts me to
sleep, but back in the day it used to make me extremely creative and
euphoric. LSD just lets me peak through the looking glass into my
psyche, which is invaluable.

I have to say LSD had the biggest impact on my life. I realized that because all matter is compressed energy and energy is never lost only changed that there is really no death. Came up with bunch of stuff like that. Never looked at world the same again

Ecstacy.
It was a beautiful reminder that there still is happiness and many things to live for.

I don't have experience with many other things. Just some tobacco, drink, weed and a threshold dose of shrooms.

LSD or MDMA. But when taken as a candyflip, that experience
truely changes me. Those trips make me think about those around
me and my friends and family, my relationship with them, and shit like
that. I wake up and somehow feel i know those people better.

Good quality MDMA is so elusive. I feel that so many people who are
just getting to college now will never experience it properly because
they'll buy those expensive rolls that are filled with MDE and meth and
think that MDMA sucks. Sad, eh?

I know what you are sayin mariecurie. I do enjoy MDA though
and dont mind if that is in my rolls, but MDMA only rolls are hard to
find. SWIM had a great pure powder source a while back, ahh the
good ol days. My first MDMA experience was very life altering
too, i think there was some MDA in it cuz i got nice visuals. I
was dancing all over my room and playing with tracers, first time is
always the best.

I wonder if methylone changes people's lives the same way the MDMA
does. Does anyone on here have experience with methylone that seems to
show that it has potential to be a mind-opening agent? I'd love to hear
more about this seemingly wonderful chemical. Too bad it's so darn
expensive...

LSD is by far my favorite drug and has provided me with many life altering experiences. However, I feel I was most impacted by DXM. I find that DXM has been involved in almost every drastic life changing event thats happened to me. I remember more negative impacts than positive ones from it but, every time I need to escape from reality, I find a gram of dex does the job perfectly.

Come to think of it, crack had probably the worst effect on my life out of all the drugs. Throughout my life, crack was the only drug that ever got me by the balls. Luckily for me, I have the will power to stay away from that shit.

Salvia experiences made my life a living hell. I've honestly never
hated anything in the universe as much as I hate that plant. I think
I'd rather attempt a high dose nutmeg trip than go within ten feet of
this stuff!

I'm surprised no one has cited adderall as the drug that has changed them most. That stuff warps your mind pretty quickly.

Unquestionably psychedelics for the lasting change in perspective, a la
Ram Dass, "Be Here Now". But none of that would have happened
without pot, which showed what I had always suspected from the time I
was old enough to read about them: illegal drugs are not
uniformly "bad". Gateway drug indeed, and that's largely why, I
bet.<!--

I would have to say weed. Why? I guess it was my gateway drug, they say weed is a gateway drug and in a way its true. The thing is its only true becuase they are not trueful with us about drugs. Growing up my parents were heavy drinkers, my mom still is but my dad has had to slow down. The always told me that drugs were bad all of them. I believed them on the premise that my dad never lied to me before he always spoke the truth. When I was 15/16 years old I hung out with alot of people who smoked herb. One day my sister(older) and I were driving to a friends house and she asked me if I ever smoked "pot". I was like uhh no, and she said come on you can tell me I wont't tell mom and dad, I was like really I haven't. She's like you hang out with so and so they smoke and you never so much as tried it? I'm like no. She said well I have she said it wasn' bad and she liked it. That was the end of the conversation. My thinking was its my sister can do it why can't I. So I tried it and before long I was smoking herb ever day. I did so for the next 8 years of my life except for the few times I was forced to quit for a few weekseither by hospital or job.

For the next few years of my life I would only smoke weed wouldn't fuck with anything else my friends were into. One day I decided to smoke from fry, which to this day I am still not sure what the fuck is in it besides phormaldehyde. I didn't get to into it, but it was kinda could I would still not touch anything else especially addictive shit. Well my sister had been into e and acid and shit. Some girlfriends of mine got me to try a couple hits of acid one night. I was like man this shit isn't working on me I don't see anything, but the whole night I sat there on the couch watching tom and jerry smoking herb with a big shit eating grin on my face that never stopped. This lead me to try E. I loved acid, weed and e. I would never touch anything that was addictive though. Still to this day I have never had coke, meth, or heroin. Thanks mostly to my knowledge of my addictive personality I just know I would like them and probably too god damn much. I was forced to stop smoking herb 3 almost 4 years ago as my girlfriend's daughter was getting too old and we decided it would be best for me to resume smoking after she turned 18(only 7 years left!). I we eventually moved and I fell out of contact we every dealer I have ever known, and I had no way to get acid or e anymore.

Then a story breaks in rolling stone about this new drug 2c-t-7 that people were buying off the internet. Well it sounded good to me. So I research my ass off (2001ish) found somewhich I enjoyed and have eventually tried many research chemicals, and I am still trying new ones. Which these research chemicals introduced me to a man named Alexander Shulgin who's book I read, and throughly enjoyed. It also sparked my interest as something I was really interested in. So I decided it was something for me. I enrolled at the University here its a top 10 University for my studies which is Chemical Engineering. So after 10+ years of being a slackass druggie/pothead I decided to finally do something with my life to learn about something I have come to love. CHEMICALS. All of this thanks my very first drug I tried WEED. Despite the fact that I got expelled from highschool becuase of it, and lost a really nice job at NASA.I have learned more, becuase ofthis drug, about life and about myself than anyone could have ever taught me.So thanks Mary I will be seeing you again soon.Edited by: drwoo
